Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information WellnessPicks (wellness-picks.com) collects, why, how we protect it and what rights you have. We keep it short because we collect very little. It is written to follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) of the Philippines and its implementing rules.

Who we are

WellnessPicks is an independent review site for wellness products sold on Shopee and TikTok Shop in the Philippines. The site is operated by Sandra Jane Rasonable, Davao City, Philippines, who is the personal information controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and what we do not

WellnessPicks does not have user accounts, comments, a newsletter or a shop. We do not ask you to sign up for anything to read a guide. This is what we do collect:

Messages you send us. If you email us from our Contact page (to suggest a product, report an error, challenge a score as a seller or ask a question), we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. The Contact page opens your own email program; we do not run a form that stores your message on the website.
Click counts on product links. When you click a “Check price” button, our server counts the click against the product so we can see which guides are useful, then sends you on to Shopee or TikTok Shop. The count is a single number per product. We do not store your IP address, your name or an identifier for you against it, and we do not count clicks from search-engine and social-media crawlers.
Server logs. Like every website, our web host automatically records technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser type and the referring site. We use it to keep the site secure and working, and the host deletes it on its normal schedule 90 days.
Information in our logins. Only our own editors can log in to the site. If you are an editor, we store the username and email address you were given.

Why we use it

To read and reply to your messages, and to act on your corrections and suggestions.
To understand which guides and products readers click, so we can keep our research useful.
To keep the website secure, fix problems and prevent abuse.
To meet our legal obligations.

Under the Data Privacy Act our legal bases are your consent when you contact us, our legitimate interests in running and securing the site, and legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles or automated decisions about you. Visitors’ information is shared with Google through Google Analytics as described below.

Cookies and tracking

WellnessPicks does not use advertising cookies or social-media tracking pixels. We use Google Analytics (provided by Google) to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve our guides. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information such as your IP address, device and browser details and the pages you view. We use it for statistics only, not to identify you, and we do not combine it with any other information about you. You can block it with your browser settings or Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. WordPress also sets a temporary cookie only for editors who log in.

Our guides use the fonts and files hosted on our own site. Embedded content from other services is not used on the pages.

Affiliate links and other websites

Our guides link to products on Shopee and TikTok Shop. Many of these are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. See How we make money. When you click a link you leave our site. Shopee and TikTok Shop, and the browser or app you use, may set their own cookies and collect information about you under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We recommend reading them.

We share information only where needed to run the site:

Google (Google Analytics), which receives visit statistics as described under Cookies and tracking.
Our email provider team@wellness-picks.com, which holds the messages you send us.
Authorities if the law or a valid order requires it.

Where a provider processes information outside the Philippines, we rely on that provider’s security commitments and the Data Privacy Act’s accountability principle. We do not sell or rent your information.

How long we keep it

Emails you send us: for as long as needed to deal with your message and for up to 2 years afterwards, then deleted, unless the law requires longer.
Click counts: kept as a running total, not linked to any person.
Server logs: as described above.

How we protect it

The website is served over HTTPS by our hosting provider, access to the editing area is limited to named editors with strong passwords, and the site and its backups are kept up to date. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach occurs that could harm you, we will notify the National Privacy Commission and affected people as the Data Privacy Act requires.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:

be informed about how your information is used (this policy);
access the personal information we hold about you;
object to our use of it, including withdrawing consent;
ask us to correct it if it is wrong;
ask us to erase or block it where the law allows;
receive a copy of your information in a common format where it is processed electronically;
claim damages if you were harmed by inaccurate, unlawfully obtained or misused information; and
complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph) if you think we have mishandled your information.

To use any of these rights, email us at team@wellness-picks.com. We will reply within a reasonable time, normally within 15 working days. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Children

WellnessPicks is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Health information

Our guides are general information, not medical advice. Please do not send us your medical history, test results or other sensitive personal information. If you do, we will treat it as confidential, use it only to answer you, and delete it once we have.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, for example if we add analytics, a newsletter or comments, and we will change the date at the top. Please check it from time to time.
