The same brand can be sold on Shopee and Lazada by its own store, by a long-standing shop or by a reseller you have never heard of. The badge, the store age and the price decide how much to trust a listing. Here is what each platform shows, and what we found when we compared the same products on both.
What the listing shows
The trust signals on each platform
| Signal | Shopee | Lazada |
|---|---|---|
| Brand store badge | Official store (Shopee Mall) badge; Preferred is a separate, lower tier | LazMall badge next to the store name in the product block |
| How long the store has existed | Join date on the shop page | Shown as “N-Year Store” in the seller box |
| Size of the audience | Follower count | Units “sold by store” |
| Seller record | Shop rating, response rate, rating count on the listing | Seller ratings %, quick-reply time, shipping within 48 hours, repeat customers |
| Sales | Sold count on the listing | Sold count on the listing |
Our Shopee Mall vs. Preferred vs. regular sellers explainer covers the Shopee tiers in detail.

What this means
Do not assume one platform is always cheaper
In these nine comparisons Lazada was lower in six, the same in two and higher in one, and the gaps ranged from ₱0.50 to ₱70. Three of the “lower” prices were within ₱10. Prices move daily and depend on vouchers, so compare the same variant on both before you buy.
The larger risk is not the ₱10. It is the look-alike: on Lazada we saw “Omron NE-C28” listings at ₱599 from an unknown seller, next to Omron’s own LazMall price of ₱3,509. A price that far under the brand store is a warning sign on either platform.
Before you buy
Six checks that work on both
- Prefer the brand’s own store: the Shopee Mall badge or the Lazada LazMall badge.
- Check how old the store is and how many people have bought from it.
- Match brand, size or strength and model to the product you want, and say plainly when the match is only at brand level.
- Look for the FDA number the listing prints, and look the product up on the FDA portal where one applies.
- Compare the price per unit, not the headline price (see our price per unit explainer).
- Be wary of a price far below the brand store, and of a long-standing shop that is not the brand’s own: it may be legitimate, but it is not the brand’s guarantee.
Shopee vs Lazada: common questions
Is Lazada cheaper than Shopee for health products?
Not consistently. In nine comparisons we made on 26 and 27 October 2026, Lazada was lower in six, the same in two and higher in one.
Is LazMall the same as Shopee Mall?
They play a similar role: a brand or authorised store badge. The details of each program are set by the platform, and we did not review their policies here.
Is a non-Mall store always a bad idea?
No. A long-standing shop with many ratings can be fine, and one Lazada store in our comparison (Inmed Corp, 8 years) sells a Getwell nebulizer without the LazMall badge. But the brand’s own store is the safer default.
Do the same product pages match on both platforms?
Often, but not always. Check pack size, variant and model on each listing; one Lazada Partners listing used a different title from the Shopee one.
Do you test the products?
No. We read listings and shop records and look products up on the FDA portal where one applies.
