Our verdict
No supplement we found is proven to treat low libido, poor stamina or erectile problems, and the biggest risk in this category is a product that secretly contains a prescription drug. Of the products we could check, only two clear our safety checks, and both scored only around 50 out of 100.
If you still want to try one, Healthmate Endurance (51/100) is registered with the FDA and lists its ingredients, and Swanson Maca (49/100) is the simplest formula. Both are modest herbal products, and neither should be expected to work like a medicine.
See a doctor first if you have erectile problems, take heart or blood-pressure medicine, or use nitrates. Trouble with erections or desire can be an early sign of heart disease, diabetes or low testosterone, and a supplement can hide that.
Pills for men’s “stamina” and “vitality” are among the biggest sellers on Shopee, and among the riskiest. This guide checks the best-sellers against the FDA Philippines portal and its public health warnings, and reads what the research on these herbs does and does not show.
80%
of 25 marketed sexual-function supplements in one published review and meta-analysis showed none of the efficacy expected from their ingredients (secondary summary of the paper).

The risk: hidden prescription drugs
The FDA Philippines keeps publishing warnings that “herbal” products for men contain sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil, the active drugs in prescription erection medicines, with no mention on the label. They are dangerous for men who take nitrate heart medicine or have low blood pressure, because the combination can drop blood pressure sharply. The US FDA has found the same thing for years in products sold online.
- DRIVEMAX PLUS Herbal Dietary Supplement Capsule: sildenafil and vardenafil (Advisory No. 2026-1008, 2 September 2026), and sildenafil in two earlier advisories (2025-1004 and 2025-0365).
- MEGAMAN Herbal Dietary Supplement for Men: sildenafil in advisories 2026-0597 (May 2026) and 2025-0452, plus an “unregistered” advisory, 2025-0993.
- BRAVO Maca + Jatropha + Corynaea Crassa: tadalafil (Advisory No. 2026-1009, 2 September 2026).
- TURBO Maca and Clavo Huasca capsules: sildenafil (Advisory No. 2026-0735, 7 July 2026).
- HARD BULL: named in Advisory No. 2026-0598 (2026).
- MAXMAN (Manhattan Biological): Advisory No. 2024-0642.
The same brand names carry FDA registration numbers for other versions, so a registration number on a listing does not clear a product. That is why we looked for advisories by brand, not just by registration. Some advisories name specific batches, but we treat a brand with repeated advisories as a fail.
What the research actually shows
These summaries come from published reviews as reported in secondary sources. We did not read the original papers or any clinical guideline, so treat them as a starting point to discuss with a doctor.
- Panax ginseng, tribulus and L-arginine: a 2021 systematic review of placebo-controlled trials, and a later meta-analysis, report that these may improve male sexual function, with the authors calling for more research.
- Tongkat ali: a 2022 meta-analysis of five trials found higher total testosterone, but the trials were small and of low or unclear quality. Evidence for libido or erections is weaker.
- Ashwagandha: an 8-week trial in 50 men with low desire found a larger testosterone rise than placebo. A 2026 trial of 76 men was also positive, but it was a single short trial linked to its manufacturer.
- Maca: a 2010 systematic review found limited evidence from four trials, and a 2009 trial in 50 men with mild erectile problems improved scores more than placebo. It is a small body of evidence.
- Marketed products: in the review of 25 products, 80% showed none of the efficacy expected from their ingredients.
In short: some herbs show a signal in small trials, no supplement has been shown to match a prescription treatment, and a capsule’s content may not match what a trial used. Those trials gave specific, standardised amounts, which most Shopee listings do not state.
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| FR- registration, verified for this exact product | The FDA has a record of the product and its maker | Not an approval, and not a test of what is inside |
| “FDA approved” / FDA logo on images | A seller’s statement | The FDA does not approve food supplements. Registered ones must state “no approved therapeutic claims” |
| “Boost testosterone” | A hormone claim | No product here is shown to do this. A true medical effect would make it a drug |
| “Stamina”, “vitality”, “performance” | Marketing words | Not defined, and not measured in any listing we read |
| “Natural” or “herbal” | A description of the source | Says nothing about hidden drugs, which the FDA keeps finding in “herbal” products |
| “For men” or “male enhancement” | A target market | May be a sign of risk: most FDA warnings in this category use these words |
| Reviews saying “it works” | One buyer’s experience | Cannot tell you what the capsule contains |
Men’s supplements we would not buy
These were for sale on Shopee when we checked, or are named in FDA advisories.
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| DRIVEMAX PLUS, MEGAMAN, HARD BULL, BRAVO, TURBO Maca, MAXMAN | Named in FDA advisories for hidden sildenafil, vardenafil or tadalafil, 2024 to 2026 (details above). | Fails: hidden drugs |
| Vitaman Plus 100 softgel | 10,000+ sold. The listing says “FDA approved”, claims to “enhance testosterone levels, support prostate health and boost libido”, and a buyer review says it came from China. The FDA portal has a “Vitaman Prime” registration but we found none for “Vitaman Plus”. | No registration found; unsupported claims |
| Machete Gold capsules | The capsule has an FDA registration (FR-4000014557073), but the brand name was in a 2025 advisory (No. 2025-0528) for an unauthorized “Machete Gold Special Oil for Men”. We did not read a listing. | Brand named in an advisory |
| Maca-Max, Ashwagandha Maca (Balnzy), Max Vigour Maca, Tongkat Ali Maximum Strength (Dorado), NO Booster L-Arginine (Kapenstend) | FDA advisories for unregistered food supplements, 2024 to 2026. | Fails: unregistered |
| Swanson Tongkat Ali and Korean Red Ginseng | Both sell in large numbers. We did not find an FDA registration for either under the Swanson name, although other Swanson products are registered. | No registration found |
| Nature’s Key Tongkat Ali Gummies | The FDA record we found is for the capsule (FR-2336087), not the gummy. The listing shows no ingredient list or amount. | Registration not matched |
| Swisse Men’s Potency+, Fertil X, DPX60, Men’s Essentials Wellness | We found no FDA record under these names. | No registration found |
| “Play & Joy Rose Maca” and similar “enhancement” lubricants or oils | FDA advisory 2024-1100 describes an unregistered medical device. A “special oil for men” is a cosmetic and cannot claim a drug effect. | Fails: unregistered |

1. Healthmate Endurance (30 capsules)
51/100
FDA registered
Ingredients named
Official store
₱20 per capsule
| FDA status | Registered food supplement: “Healthmate”, FR-4000013932253 (Primecure Health & Wellness Co., valid to 13 May 2028) |
| FDA number in listing? | No. We found it on the FDA portal |
| Ingredients | Aphrodana, maca root, panax ginseng, tribulus terrestris, zinc picolinate and vitamin E, in a 700 mg capsule. No amount is given for any ingredient |
| Hidden-drug advisory | None found for the brand or product |
| Seller | Healthmate official store (Doc Alvin), 3 ratings on this listing |
| Price | ₱598 for 30 capsules (list ₱866) |
It is the only product we read that is registered with the FDA under its own name, lists what is in it on the pack and in the listing, and has no hidden-drug advisory against the brand. The pack carries the legal line “no approved therapeutic claims”, and the formula is built on herbs that have at least some research behind them: ginseng, tribulus and maca.
The listing then says more than the pack. It states the product will “help increase testosterone production” and “boost bloodflow”, neither of which we can support for this formula. It names no amount for ginseng, maca or tribulus, so you cannot compare it with what trials used. The promotional images show an FDA logo and a US flag next to a Philippine-registered product, and the specification calls it “Organic”, which the registration does not say.
Why it scored well
- Registered with the FDA under this product name
- Pack lists every ingredient and says no approved therapeutic claims
- No hidden-drug advisory on the brand
Watch-outs
- No amount for any ingredient, only a 700 mg total
- Listing claims testosterone and blood-flow effects
- FDA logo and US flag on the images; “Organic” in the spec
Simplest formula
2. Swanson Full Spectrum Maca 500 mg (100 capsules)
49/100
FDA registered
Single ingredient
500 mg stated
₱6 per capsule
| FDA status | Registered food supplement: “Swanson Full Spectrum Maca” dietary supplement capsule, FR-4000008357586 (EdgePro Trading Inc., valid to 7 September 2028) |
| FDA number in listing? | No. We found it on the FDA portal |
| Ingredients | Maca at 500 mg per capsule (from the title). The listing shows no label photo or ingredient list |
| Hidden-drug advisory | None found for maca. The brand has unrelated advisories on other products |
| Seller | Swanson Health Products shop: 5 months on Shopee, 170 ratings, 34% response rate; not Shopee Mall |
| Price | ₱560 for 100 capsules (list ₱1,030) |
A one-ingredient product is easier to judge than a “blend”, and this is the cheapest per capsule of the two picks. The FDA record matches the brand and product name, and the listing keeps its claims fairly modest: a “traditional” herb “used to promote vitality, sexuality, hormone balance and stamina”. Maca is one of the herbs most often named in the research, though that research is limited (see below).
The shop is young and the listing is thin: no label photo and no expiry on the page we read. We could not confirm who runs the shop, so check for the Swanson and EdgePro details on the pack when it arrives. Several unrelated Swanson products have FDA advisories for being unregistered, which shows why checking the exact product matters.
Why it scored well
- One ingredient and a stated amount
- Registered under this product name
- Modest claims
Watch-outs
- Young shop, 34% response rate, not a Mall store
- No label photo or expiry on the listing
- Maca evidence is limited and mostly small trials
Also considered
JAYDU’S L-MAX, DOMAX and BRUSKO PERFORMAXXX. All three have FDA food-supplement registrations (for example FR-4000014454547, FR-4000012603758, FR-4000014545151) and herbal formulas that include tongkat ali. We did not find a Shopee listing to read for JAYDU’S or DOMAX, and the BRUSKO listing is from the same company as Machete Gold. We left them out for now rather than score them blind.
Prostate and urinary products. Saw palmetto and similar products, such as Biocore VitaPrime, are for the prostate, a different topic, and we did not score them here.
How to choose, if you still want one
- Talk to a doctor first if you have erectile problems, low desire that has lasted, or take nitrates, blood-pressure or heart medicine.
- Check the FDA portal for the exact product name, then search the brand for advisories at our how-to.
- Be wary of “for men” blends that promise erections or hours of performance. That is what the hidden-drug products promise.
- Prefer products that list each ingredient and its amount.
- Skip any listing that says “FDA approved”, “boosts testosterone” or “cures” a problem.
- Stop and see a doctor if you get chest pain, dizziness, a very fast heartbeat, a prolonged erection or vision changes.
- Do not combine a supplement with prescription erection medicine unless your doctor says so.
How we researched this guide
We searched Shopee for men’s libido, stamina and sexual-health supplements on October 12, 2026, checked more than 20 brands against the FDA Philippines verification portal and its public health warnings, and read a small number of listings in full. Each was scored with our published rubric. Because no listing gives amounts for every ingredient, we scored disclosure on what the pack and listing do state. Price uses the capsule counts in the listings.
The research summaries come from published reviews as reported in secondary sources. We did not read the original papers, a clinical guideline or the US FDA’s current list of tainted products. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer.
Frequently asked questions
Do male enhancement supplements work?
Some herbs, such as ginseng, tribulus, tongkat ali, ashwagandha and maca, show small signals in small trials. None has been shown to match a prescription treatment, and most marketed products do not state the amounts trials used.
What is the best supplement for male libido in the Philippines?
We could not find one that is proven. In our review, Healthmate Endurance (51/100) and Swanson Maca (49/100) cleared our safety checks, and neither should be expected to act like a medicine.
Are men's sexual enhancement supplements safe?
The main risk is products that secretly contain sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil. The FDA Philippines has issued several such warnings in 2025 and 2026.
Can a "herbal" supplement contain Viagra?
Yes. The FDA has warned about products sold as herbal that contained sildenafil or tadalafil without listing it. This is dangerous with nitrate medicines or low blood pressure.
Does a supplement with an FDA registration number contain hidden drugs?
It should not, but a registration does not test what is inside, and some brands with registered products have also been named in hidden-drug advisories.
Does tongkat ali increase testosterone?
A 2022 meta-analysis of five small trials found higher total testosterone, but with low or unclear quality. Evidence for libido or erections is weaker.
Does maca help with libido or erections?
The evidence is limited. A 2010 review found four trials, and a small trial in men with mild erectile problems showed some improvement.
Is ashwagandha good for libido?
A few short trials show a testosterone rise or better desire, but they are small and some are manufacturer-linked.
How do I check if a men's supplement is FDA registered?
Search the exact product name on verification.fda.gov.ph for an FR- number, then search the brand name in the FDA advisories.
Can I take these with blood-pressure or heart medicine?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist first, especially if you take nitrates. Hidden drugs in some products are dangerous with them.
What if I have trouble with erections?
See a doctor. It can be an early sign of heart disease, diabetes or low testosterone, and effective prescription treatment exists.
Is "FDA approved" on a Shopee listing real?
No. The FDA does not approve food supplements. A registered one carries a statement that it has no approved therapeutic claims.
