Our verdict
Plain creatine monohydrate is the form with the best evidence, and the main danger on Shopee is not the supplement but the seller: the FDA names two of the best-selling creatine brands, Ozmolts and Omilay Japan, in advisories for unregistered products. Of the five listings we scored, Pure Form (74/100) was the only one to print a registration number that matches an FDA record for the same product.
Optimum Nutrition (64/100) is the known brand but a pre-order at twice the price, ACTIVE (58/100) is the cheapest with the clearest directions and no registration number, Wheyl KREA (52/100) is a bare listing and MuscleTech capsules (47/100) do not say how much creatine they hold.
This is general information, not medical advice. If you have kidney disease, are pregnant or are under 18, ask a doctor before you start.
Creatine is one of the cheapest and most studied sports supplements, and one of the most copied. The listings on Shopee range from ₱179 gummies to ₱5,000 imports. This guide checks the best-sellers against the FDA Philippines records and advisories and against the sports-nutrition evidence, and scores what each listing actually tells a buyer.

FDA advisories turned up when we searched the FDA portal for creatine. They include Ozmolts and Omilay Japan, which are among Shopee’s best-selling creatine brands, and a gummy product sold at the same 6,500 mg strength as one of the Shopee listings.

What the evidence says
The main source is the 2017 position stand of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (Kreider and others, Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition), which we read in part. The points about gummies, CreaPure and Informed Sport come from search summaries of articles, some written by companies that sell creatine.
- Monohydrate is the form to buy. The paper calls it “the most extensively studied and clinically effective form” and says clinical evidence has not shown that other forms, such as ethyl ester, buffered or nitrate, work better.
- The usual dose is 3 to 5 g a day. The paper says muscle stores can generally be maintained on 3 to 5 g a day. A “loading” phase of about 5 g four times a day for 5 to 7 days raises stores faster, and smaller doses work more slowly, so loading is optional.
- It appears safe for healthy people. The paper reports no compelling evidence of harm in healthy people at up to 30 g a day for 5 years, and no compelling evidence that it harms kidney function. People who already have kidney disease should ask their doctor first.
- It works for high-intensity training. The position stand calls creatine monohydrate the most effective supplement for raising high-intensity exercise capacity and lean mass during training. It says that adding carbohydrate may increase uptake, but the effect on performance may not exceed monohydrate alone.
- Gummies are a poor bet. Tests published by NOW Foods in 2024 reported that 5 of 12 creatine gummy brands fell short of their label claims, and a 2025 analysis by SuppCo reported underdosed gummies. Both were run by companies with something to sell, so treat them as a caution, not proof about any one product.
- CreaPure and Informed Sport are about quality, not strength. CreaPure is a branded German monohydrate. Informed Sport certifies batches for banned substances. Neither has been shown to make creatine work better, and you should check a batch on the certifier’s site, not on the label.
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| “100% creatine monohydrate” | The only ingredient | Ask for the FDA number to confirm; check that it matches the brand and product |
| “Micronized” or “ultra-micronized” | Smaller particles that mix more easily | Not shown to make it work better. “Faster absorption” has no support in what we read |
| “CreaPure” | A branded German monohydrate | Quality assurance, not extra strength. Some unregistered products also advertise it |
| “Registered as Food Supplement with No Approved Therapeutic Claims” | The FDA registration wording | The product is not approved to treat or prevent disease. Claims about hormones, brain or illness go beyond it |
| “Manufactured in an ISO 22000 and US FDA registered facility” | A factory certification | A facility registration is not an approval of the product |
| “Boosts anabolic hormones”, “lowers myostatin” | A biology claim | No source given in the listing; not part of the position stand’s main findings |
| “6500 mg” gummies | A strength figure | The FDA has warned against unbranded 6,500 mg creatine gummies; gummies often test below label claims |
| “Loading phase” | A faster start | Optional. 3 to 5 g a day gets you to the same place more slowly |
Creatine we would not buy
These were for sale on Shopee when we checked, or are named in FDA advisories. We read the first, fourth and fifth in full.
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| Ozmolts Creatine Monohydrate Powder 300 g, ₱718 to ₱1,289, 10K+ sold | The brand and product name, “Ozmolts Micronized Creatine Powder”, are named in FDA Advisories 2024-1424 and 2024-1387 (14 October 2024) as an unregistered food supplement, for the chocolate and strawberry flavours. The Shopee listing prints no FDA number, no ingredient list and no scoop size, and gives free gifts such as keto slimming capsules. | Brand named in FDA advisories |
| Omilay Creatine Monohydrate capsules, 120 pcs, ₱318, 8K+ sold | “Omilay Japan Micronized Creatine” in lemon and chocolate is named in FDA Advisories 2025-1018 and 2025-0711 as an unregistered food supplement. We did not read the capsule listing in full. | Brand named in FDA advisories |
| ISNIH Creatine Monohydrate Gummies 6500 mg, ₱179 | Unbranded “Creatine Monohydrate Gummies (6500 MG)” are named in FDA Advisory 2026-0003 (28 January 2026). This listing has the same strength; we cannot say it is the same product and did not read it in full. Gummies also failed label-claim tests in the studies we saw. | Same strength as an FDA-warned product |
| Myprotein “The Creatine (Crea)” 250 g, ₱753, ships from mainland China | A cross-border listing in the “Home & Living” category, with no ratings and Amazon text copied in (“ASIN”, “Item Form: Tablet”, “4.4 out of 5 stars”). It mixes powder, capsules, tablets and gummies as options. It is not the Philippine importer’s listing. | Copied text; unclear product |
| Resellers of Optimum Nutrition, such as “ON Sports Nutrition PH”, ₱1,300 | A shop 4 months old with 71 ratings, a brand field that says “Nutren Optimum”, and variations that include 600 g and 200 capsules. Others sell the same brand from Binondo, Cebu and Thailand at ₱1,169 to ₱4,398. | Seller and product unclear |
| Near-identical listings such as “Great Solubility Creatine Monohydrate Powder”, about ₱613 to ₱627 | Six or more listings from one Pasay shop with no brand or manufacturer on the page. We did not read them. | No maker to check |
| MINCH, STRENLX, VITEEY (which advertises Creapure), NUTRIFUN, BEWORTHS and NUTIRSHILA | Named by the FDA in 2024 to 2026 advisories as unregistered creatine products. We did not look for them on Shopee. | FDA warnings |
Our picks

74/100
FDA number printed and checked
100% creatine monohydrate
Brand store
About ₱12.50 a serving
| FDA status | The listing prints FR-4000012097911. On the FDA Philippines portal that number is Pure Form Ventures Inc.’s creatine monohydrate food supplement powder, registered “with no approved therapeutic claims”, and not cancelled. None of the advisories in our creatine search names the brand |
| Registration number in listing? | Yes, plus an FDA licence number (CFRR-NCR-FI/W-720232), which we did not look up |
| Ingredients | “100% creatine monohydrate, no other ingredients” |
| Serving | 300 g is 60 servings and 150 g is 30, so 5 g a serving. The listing text gives no directions; the Watsons listing of the same product says 5 g (1 scoop) in water |
| Seller | Pure Form brand store: 3 years on Shopee, 214K ratings, 163K followers, 100% response; 4.9 stars, 10K+ sold on this listing |
| Price | ₱749 for 300 g (about ₱12.50 a serving) and ₱499 for 150 g. Watsons Official Store lists the same 300 g at ₱699 |
The only listing we read that prints a registration number which matches an FDA record for the same product. It names a single ingredient, creatine monohydrate, which is the form with the best evidence, and it comes from the brand’s own store with a very large sales record.
The listing then goes well past that. A long “benefits according to multiple medical sources” list names no source and includes raised anabolic hormones, lower myostatin and “improve symptoms of neurological disease”. The registration itself says the product has no approved therapeutic claims. “Ultra-micronized for faster body absorption” is also a claim without support, since the studies we read do not show that any form beats plain monohydrate. Use the price at Watsons if it is lower on the day.
Why it scored well
- Registration number printed and it matches the FDA record
- Single ingredient, the best-studied form
- Brand store with strong ratings
Watch-outs
- Therapeutic-sounding claims with no sources
- “Faster absorption” is unsupported
- No directions in the brand-store text

Best-known brand, with a wait
2. Optimum Nutrition Micronized Creatine Powder, unflavored, 60 servings (pre-order)
ShopeeCreaPure named
Expiry date shown
Pre-order: ships in 20 days
About ₱27 a serving
| FDA status | Registered food supplement records found for Optimum Nutrition micronized creatine (Total Nutrition Corp and Visita International), for example FR-4000013950507. None of the advisories in our creatine search names the brand |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | “Made with CreaPure creatine”, “no fillers or additives”; no ingredient panel |
| Directions | None given; “5 grams per serving” is not stated on this listing |
| Seller | The shop named Optimum Nutrition: 8 years on Shopee, 81.4K ratings, 113K followers, 56% response rate; 4.9 stars, 10K+ sold |
| Price | From ₱1,640 for 60 servings (about ₱27 a serving). It is a pre-order and ships in about 20 days |
The best-known creatine brand, and the only listing that names the creatine source: CreaPure is a branded, German-made monohydrate. The listing shows a real expiry date (06/20/2027) and uses careful wording, “supports strength and power*”, although the asterisk has no footnote.
You pay for the brand. At about ₱27 a serving it costs more than twice as much as Pure Form, and it is a pre-order that ships in about 20 days. The specifications say the product is “capsules” and “organic”, which a powder is not, and the listing gives no directions or registration number. Many other Shopee shops resell the same brand, so check that you are buying from this one.
Why it scored well
- Names CreaPure and shows an expiry date
- Cautious claim wording
- Registered records exist for the product
Watch-outs
- Pre-order, ships in about 20 days
- About twice the price of Pure Form per serving
- Spec fields say capsules and organic for a powder

58/100
Loading and daily directions
No FDA number printed
Powder listed as capsules
About ₱9.80 a serving
| FDA status | A registered “creatine monohydrate” record exists for Athlene Distribution Corp (FR-4000014266607), but the listing prints no number and we could not match this seller or pack to it. None of the advisories in our creatine search names the brand |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Directions | 5 g (1 scoop) in 500 ml of water; loading: 5 g four times daily for 5 days; then 5 g once a day; drink plenty of water |
| Claim | “Creatine has been shown to increase physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise” |
| Seller | Sunfeel_: 31 months on Shopee, 10.9K ratings, 2.6K followers, 100% response; 4.7 stars from 261 ratings, 1K+ sold |
| Price | From ₱589 for one 300 g bag (about ₱9.80 a serving); ₱1,689 for the buy 3 take 1 set |
The cheapest per serving of the five, with the clearest directions: a scoop in water, with the loading plan (5 g four times a day for 5 days) and the maintenance plan (5 g once a day). The main claim is measured, about short bursts of high-intensity exercise, which is what the evidence supports.
The listing is sloppy elsewhere. The specifications say the product is “capsules”, “organic” and “orange” flavoured, for a 300 g powder that lists only “creatine” as an ingredient. It prints no registration number and the seller is a general shop, not a brand store, so you cannot see who made it or imported it. Ask for the FDA number before you buy.
Why it scored well
- Lowest cost per serving
- Clear loading and maintenance directions
- Measured performance claim
Watch-outs
- No registration number; seller not matched to a record
- Spec says capsules and organic for a powder
- General shop, not the brand

52/100
Wheyl records exist
5 g per scoop stated
Almost no other detail
About ₱13.50 a serving
| FDA status | Registered food supplement records found for Wheyl KREA flavours (orange FR-4000015324669, watermelon FR-4000015337438). We did not see an unflavoured record, and the listing prints no number. None of the advisories in our creatine search names the brand |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Description | Only: “5 grams of creatine monohydrate per scoop”, the flavour names and add-ons (shaker, muscle tee) |
| Specifications | Shelf life 12 months; volume listed as 300 ml for a powder |
| Seller | HealthyCortex: 8 years on Shopee, 5.2K ratings, 2.7K followers, 81% response; 5.0 stars from 486 ratings, 2K+ sold. The listing does not say whether it is an authorised seller |
| Price | From ₱809 for 60 servings (about ₱13.50 a serving), depending on flavour and add-on |
A brand with registered records for its flavoured creatine, a stated 5 g of creatine monohydrate per scoop and no health claims at all. That restraint helps its claims score. Nothing else is on the page.
There is no ingredient list, no directions, no registration number and no explanation of the add-ons. The flavours we found records for are orange and watermelon; if you buy the unflavoured version, ask for its number. The seller is a general shop with a short list of followers, and the listing does not say that it is an authorised Wheyl seller.
Why it scored well
- No health claims
- 5 g per scoop stated
- Brand has registered flavoured records
Watch-outs
- No ingredients, directions or registration number
- Unflavoured version not matched to a record
- Seller not shown to be authorised

47/100
Official brand store
Capsules
No creatine amount per capsule
₱1,430
| FDA status | A registered record exists for MuscleTech Platinum creatine monohydrate powder (Edgepro Trading, FR-4000014053858). We did not see a record for the capsules. None of the advisories in our creatine search names the brand |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients and dose | Not stated: no creatine amount per capsule, no serving size and no directions |
| Claims | “Studies show that creatine can increase lean muscle mass, boost strength, and help maximize performance” |
| Seller | Muscletech Philippines: 5 years on Shopee, 22.8K ratings, 16.8K followers, 27% response rate; 4.9 stars from 257 ratings, 845 sold; 7 in stock when we read it |
| Price | ₱1,430 for 100 capsules; a cost per serving cannot be worked out |
The brand’s own store, with a long record and strong ratings. The text is a general explanation of what creatine is and how it works, in plain terms, and it makes only moderate claims.
It does not tell you how much creatine is in a capsule, how many to take or what a serving costs, so you cannot tell whether 100 capsules is a month or a week of the usual 3 to 5 g a day. The registered record we found is for the powder, not the capsules, and the store answers few messages (27% response rate). Capsules are an easy way to take it, but check the label for the amount first.
Why it scored well
- Brand’s own store with strong ratings
- Moderate, plainly worded claims
- Easy to take
Watch-outs
- No creatine amount per capsule or directions
- Registered record found only for the powder
- 27% response rate
How to choose and take creatine
- Buy plain creatine monohydrate powder. Skip gummies and other forms unless a doctor or dietitian suggests one.
- Look for an FDA number on the listing or the box, and check that it matches the brand and product on the FDA portal.
- Avoid any brand named in an advisory. Search the FDA portal for the brand name before you buy.
- Take about 3 to 5 g a day, mixed in water or any drink, at any time of day. Taking it every day matters more than the timing.
- Loading is optional. If you want a faster start, the position stand describes 5 g four times a day for 5 to 7 days. Otherwise go straight to the daily dose.
- Drink fluids through the day. Several listings tell you to, and creatine draws water into muscle.
- Compare the price per serving, not the price of the tub, and do not pay for flavours or add-ons you do not need.
- Ask a doctor first if you have kidney disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18 or take regular medicine.
How we researched this guide
We searched Shopee for creatine on October 13, 2026, read ten listings in full and scored five of them with our published rubric: FDA registration (25), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We searched the FDA Philippines verification portal for creatine food-supplement records and advisories, and we checked the one registration number printed in a listing against the portal. The portal’s lists are capped, so a missing record is not proof that none exists. A brand named in an advisory fails our gate and is not recommended.
The evidence comes from the ISSN position stand, which we read in part, and from search summaries of articles on gummies and certifications. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best creatine in the Philippines?
Of the five listings we scored, Pure Form Ultra-Micronized Creatine (74/100) was the only one that printed an FDA number that matched the FDA record. Optimum Nutrition (64/100) is the known brand but costs about twice as much.
Is creatine FDA registered in the Philippines?
Many creatine products are registered as food supplements. The FDA has also named unregistered ones, including Ozmolts, Omilay Japan, MINCH, STRENLX and others, so check the number and the brand.
How much creatine should I take a day?
The ISSN position stand says muscle stores can generally be maintained on 3 to 5 g a day. A loading phase of about 5 g four times a day for 5 to 7 days is optional.
Do I need to load creatine?
No. Loading raises muscle stores faster, but smaller daily doses get there more slowly. Both work.
Is creatine safe for the kidneys?
The position stand reports no compelling evidence that it harms kidney function in healthy people. People with kidney disease should ask a doctor before using it.
Which form of creatine is best?
Creatine monohydrate. The position stand says other forms, such as ethyl ester, buffered and nitrate, have not been shown to work better.
Are creatine gummies any good?
We do not recommend them. Company tests in 2024 and 2025 reported gummies that fell short of their label claims, and the FDA has warned against unbranded 6,500 mg gummies.
What does micronized creatine mean?
The powder is ground finer so it mixes more easily. We found no evidence that it works better than ordinary monohydrate.
What is CreaPure?
A branded creatine monohydrate made in Germany, sold as a high-purity ingredient. It is about quality, not extra strength. Check the product is registered.
When should I take creatine?
At any time of day. Taking it daily is more important than when. Some sources suggest taking it with a meal or carbohydrate, which may help uptake.
Can women or teenagers take creatine?
The position stand says it is safe for healthy people in general and describes conditions for young athletes. If you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor first.
Why are some creatine tubs so cheap on Shopee?
Some are fine value, such as ACTIVE at about ₱9.80 a serving. Others are unregistered products, resellers or listings with no brand. Check the FDA portal before you buy.
