Our verdict
There is no best slimming coffee, because no coffee burns fat, and Shopee’s best-selling slimming coffees are the ones the FDA has warned about most. The FDA has named Lishou, Lux Keto, Don’s Filnafil Mangosteen and many other slimming and “herbal” coffees as unregistered, and in 2026 alone it named Dr. Alfred’s Green Coffee, Hello Koffee and Dok Herbal Coffee. Four registered slimming coffees were worth scoring, and the best of them scored 66 out of 100.
BonaSlim 15-in-1 (66/100) and Luxe Slim Caffé Macchiato (63/100) have the clearest registrations and listings. Kopify (43/100) and EZ Fit (31/100) are registered but make medical claims. All four contain Garcinia cambogia, which has been linked to liver injury in case reports.
This is general information, not medical advice. If you want to lose weight, see a doctor or dietitian. Do not use these if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver disease, take regular medicine or have a heart condition, without asking your doctor.
A slimming coffee is usually instant coffee with a mix of herbs and extracts, sold with promises about fat, appetite and detox. This guide checks the Shopee best-sellers against the FDA Philippines records and advisories and against the evidence for what the ingredients do, and scores what each listing tells a buyer. It also lists the brands the FDA has warned about.

What the evidence says
These points come from search summaries of reviews and case reports, not the original papers, and some come from popular-press articles. Treat the numbers as rough.
- Caffeine does not make you lose fat. Some reviews of randomized trials link caffeine with small drops in weight and body fat, in the range of under 2 kg over four weeks in one commentary. Habitual coffee drinkers build tolerance, and obesity groups say there is no good evidence that caffeine itself causes meaningful weight loss.
- Green coffee extract has a small, short-term effect at best. A 2023 meta-analysis of randomized trials pooled only three trials with 103 people and found about 1.3 kg more weight loss than control at 500 mg a day or more of chlorogenic acid. The authors noted that the trials were small and short, and an older analysis of high-risk-of-bias trials reported about 2.5 kg. No listing says how much green coffee extract it contains.
- Garcinia cambogia carries a liver warning. Case reports and reviews link Garcinia supplements with liver injury. One review of case reports counted more than 200 liver adverse events, including deaths and transplants, and the U.S. Pharmacopeia and Health Canada have both reviewed the risk. Every slimming coffee we scored lists it.
- Senna is a laxative. A mix that contains senna can make you lose water and bowel contents, not fat, and it is not meant for long-term use.
- A coffee is a drink. Weight management rests on what you eat, how much you move and your medical situation, and a doctor or dietitian can help with that.
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| “Burns fat”, “fat burner”, “fat blocker” | A hope | No coffee has been shown to do this. No amounts or studies in any listing |
| “Appetite suppressant”, “controls cravings” | A hope | Not shown for these mixes. Caffeine can reduce appetite for a short time in some people |
| “Detox”, “flushes toxins” | A marketing word | The liver and kidneys do this. A coffee with a laxative herb makes you go to the toilet more |
| “Results in 7 days, 100% effective” | A promise | No product can promise it. Fast changes are water or bowel contents |
| “FDA approved” | A mistaken word | The FDA registers food supplements; it does not approve them. A registration number is the check |
| “Diabetic-friendly”, “keto-friendly” | A diet label | Not tested for a person with diabetes. Ask your doctor before changing what you drink |
| “Treats cancer, hepatitis, high blood pressure” | A medical claim | A food supplement registered with the FDA has no approved therapeutic claims. Do not use it as treatment |
| “Regulates menstrual cycle”, “balances hormones” | A medical claim | No support in any listing. See a doctor for irregular periods |
| Letters spaced apart (“S L I M”, “B u r n s f a t”) | A way to get past filters | A sign the listing is trying to avoid a platform’s rules |
Slimming coffees we would not buy
These are on Shopee, or the FDA has named them. We read the first, second and fourth in full.
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| Lishou and Lish slimming coffee, ₱188 to ₱383, 9K+ sold | The Lishou name is in four FDA advisories: “LISHOU Slimming Coffee” (2022-1753) and “BAIAN LISHOU IMPERIA ELITA Vitaccino Slimming Coffee” (2019-368) as unregistered food products, “LISHOU Detox Plus” (2021-1586), and a Lishou capsule listed as an unregistered drug (2024-0756). The listing we read promises “results in 7 days, 100% effective”, names no ingredients and prints no FDA number. A registered “Lishou instant coffee 3-in-1” record also exists, so a registration number alone does not show you are buying that one. | Brand named in FDA advisories |
| LS Luxe Beauty “Half Kilo” slimming coffee from a reseller shop | A listing in the anti-ageing skin-care category with 4 ratings that spaces out words such as “burns fat” and “weight loss”, and promises “appetite suppressant” and “reduces cellulite”. We could not match it to a registration. | Claims; letter spacing |
| Sausando, Dr. Alva and Soulana “Japan slimming coffee”, about ₱350 to ₱584 | The FDA named Sausando cellulite pills in Advisory 2025-0080 “due to the presence of certain drug products”. We found no food registration for Sausando or Soulana. We did not read these listings. | Brand named in an FDA advisory; no record found |
| Coffees named in 2026 advisories: Dr. Alfred’s Green Coffee 4 plus 1, Hello Koffee (green coffee, mangosteen, Garcinia), Dr. M’s Brown Coffee 36 in 1, Dok Herbal Coffee 35 in 1 and 18 in 1, Power Sip Black Coffee | The FDA named each as an unregistered food product between August and October 2026. We did not look for them on Shopee. | FDA warnings |
| Older FDA-named slimming coffees: Lux Keto Slimming Coffee Drink Mix (2023-1074), Don’s Filnafil Mangosteen Slimming Coffee (2023-1368) | Named as unregistered. Note that “Lux Keto” is not the same as Luxe Slim. | FDA warnings |
| Purest Co, L-Carnitine Coffee and “Shape Cleanse” berry coffee, ₱376 to ₱1,450 | Slimming coffees and drinks in the search results. We did not read them. | Not reviewed |

FDA record matched by name
Ingredient list, no amounts
Lists Garcinia and senna
No directions
| FDA status | A registered “15 in 1 coffee mix with L-carnitine, Garcinia cambogia and stevia (mocha flavor)” record exists (BV BonaSlim, ED_JIRE Herbal Products), FR-4000011787747, not cancelled. An earlier advisory about it (2023-0584) was lifted in November 2023 after it was registered |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Fifteen named: mangosteen, guyabano, malunggay, ganoderma, Garcinia cambogia, barley grass, senna leaves, turmeric, spirulina, green tea, stevia, coffee, non-dairy creamer, vitamin C and L-carnitine. No amounts |
| Directions | None in the listing |
| Claim | “Can help detoxify your body to promote weight management along with proper diet and exercise” |
| Seller | Bona Vita Philippines: 5 years on Shopee, 163.8K ratings, 82.7K followers, 89% response; 4.9 stars from 7K ratings, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱1,287 for 11 boxes (about ₱117 a box) or ₱431 for 3 boxes |
The only slimming coffee we read where the FDA record is matched by name and flavour, the brand’s earlier advisory was lifted when it registered, and the claim is measured: it says the coffee can help “along with proper diet and exercise”, not that it burns fat on its own.
The ingredient list is a mix of herbs with no amounts, and two entries matter. Garcinia cambogia has been linked to liver injury in case reports, and senna is a plant used as a laxative, so weight lost through it is not fat. The listing gives no directions, so you cannot tell how many cups a day. Coffee mixes like this are a drink, not a weight-loss treatment.
Why it scored well
- FDA record matched; earlier advisory lifted
- Measured claim, mentions diet and exercise
- Brand’s own store with a long record
Watch-outs
- Contains Garcinia cambogia and senna leaves
- No amounts or directions
- A mix of 15 ingredients with no evidence for the blend

63/100
Clearest label, keto and diabetic claims
2. Luxe Slim Caffé Macchiato Slimming Coffee with Collagen and Glutathione
ShopeeFull ingredient list
Directions given
Contains Garcinia
“Diabetic-friendly”
| FDA status | Registered Luxe Slim records exist: “Caffe Macchiato Decaf herbal coffee drink mix” (Luxe Beauty and Wellness), FR-4000015169981. We did not match the regular macchiato by name, and the listing prints no number |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Arabica coffee, green coffee, green tea, L-carnitine, guarana, Garcinia cambogia, psyllium husk, lotus leaf, aloe vera, almond milk, reduced L-glutathione, hydrolyzed marine collagen, stevia. No amounts |
| Directions | One sachet in 150 ml of hot water; a cold version is described |
| Claims | “Supports an active metabolism”, “aid digestion”, “diabetic-friendly”, “keto-friendly”, “Satisfy your cravings. Transform your body” |
| Seller | Luxe Beauty and Wellness Group: 5 years on Shopee, 117.4K ratings, 178.9K followers, 91% response; 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱950 for the option shown in search; the listing offers 8-sachet, 500 g and trio options, and we did not confirm the sachet count |
The best-written listing: a full ingredient list, a clear way to prepare it and mostly measured wording (“supports an active metabolism”). It comes from the brand’s own large store.
It lists Garcinia cambogia, green coffee and guarana with no amounts, calls itself “diabetic-friendly” without saying how that was tested, and the specifications tick “appetite suppressant, fat blocker, fat burner”. Someone with diabetes should ask their doctor, not rely on that phrase. The registered Luxe Slim record we found is for the decaf version. Several other shops sell Luxe Slim half-kilo tubs; one we read spaces out words such as “burns fat” and “weight loss” letter by letter.
Why it scored well
- Full ingredient list and directions
- Mostly measured claim wording
- Brand’s own store, strong record
Watch-outs
- Garcinia cambogia in the mix; no amounts
- “Diabetic-friendly” and “fat burner” labels with no support
- Registered record matched to the decaf version only

43/100
Registered, but “FDA approved” and medical claims
3. Kopify 20in1 Slimming Coffee Drink Mix with Herbal Extract
ShopeeRegistered coffee mix
“FDA APPROVED” in the title
Claims about cancer and hepatitis
No amounts or directions
| FDA status | A registered “coffee drink mix with herbal extract” record exists for KML Kopify 20in1 (KML Digital Marketing Services), FR-4000015029346. The FDA registers food supplements; it does not “approve” them. None of the slimming-coffee advisories we found names the brand |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Twenty named, including Garcinia cambogia, green coffee extract (listed twice), L-carnitine, chlorella, grape seed and acai. No amounts |
| Claims | “Chlorella: treatment of high cholesterol, cancer and hepatitis”; “Grape seed: reduces blood pressure”; “Acai: improves cholesterol”; “Glutathione: causes skin whitening”; “Green coffee extract: reduces absorption of fat” |
| Directions | None |
| Seller | Cilebritee 2.0 Online Shop: 24 months on Shopee, 257.7K ratings, 131.5K followers, 62% response; 5.0 stars, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱449 for one pack, ₱1,200 for three |
A registered coffee mix from a seller with a large sales record. Its title says “FDA approved”, which is not what registration means.
The description claims that individual ingredients treat illness: chlorella is given as a “treatment of high cholesterol, cancer and hepatitis”, grape seed “reduces blood pressure”. A food supplement registered with the FDA has no approved therapeutic claims, so those lines go well beyond what the registration allows. No amounts, no directions. We would not buy it on those claims, and no one with a medical condition should treat a coffee as a treatment.
Why it scored well
- Registered coffee mix record exists
- Large seller with many ratings
- Sold with stevia, no sugar
Watch-outs
- “FDA approved” is the wrong word and a misleading one
- Claims that ingredients treat cancer, hepatitis and blood pressure
- Contains Garcinia cambogia; no amounts or directions

31/100
Registered brand, claims go too far
4. EZ Fit Slimming Coffee with Fiber, Buy 1 Get 1 (2 pouches of 10 sachets)
ShopeeRegistered EZFIT coffee
Different ingredients from the record
“Regulates menstrual cycle”
About ₱32 a sachet
| FDA status | Registered “Arabica coffee with Garcinia cambogia, Aquamin F and green tea extract” records exist for Yeoubi Philippines EZFIT (Wellpro Biomedical FR-4000014638976 and Toplc Biomedical FR-4000010092477). The ingredients printed on this listing (collagen, glutathione, green tea, L-carnitine, soluble fiber) are not the same list. No advisory found for the brand |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Specifications | “Appetite suppressants, detox, fat blocker, fat burner, slimming”; origin Taiwan; 10 sachets of 10 g |
| Claims | “Helps reduce belly fat”, “regulates menstrual cycle”, “balances hormones”, “improves blood circulation”, “95% of diseases originate from an unhealthy colon” |
| Directions and amounts | None |
| Seller | price drop store: 5 years on Shopee, 2.6K ratings, 2K followers, 86% response; 4.8 stars from 29 ratings, 318 sold |
| Price | ₱634 for two pouches of 10 sachets (about ₱32 a sachet); another EZ Fit listing in the search was ₱324 at “92% off” |
The brand has registered records for a coffee with Garcinia, Aquamin F and green tea. This listing lists a different set of ingredients, which means you cannot tell whether the pouch matches the registration.
The claims are the problem. The description says it regulates the menstrual cycle and balances hormones, reduces belly fat and flushes toxins, and repeats “95% of diseases originate from an unhealthy colon”. Nothing is sourced, and a registered food supplement has no approved therapeutic claims. The seller is a small shop with a few ratings on this listing.
Why it scored well
- The brand has registered records
- Buy 1 get 1 pricing
- Expiry date shown
Watch-outs
- Medical-sounding claims with no sources
- Ingredients differ from the registered product
- Small seller; no amounts or directions
If you still want one, how to choose
- Start with the FDA portal. Search the brand and product name. If the FDA has named it in an advisory, do not buy it.
- Read the whole ingredient list. Look for Garcinia cambogia, senna and other laxatives, and any ingredient you cannot name.
- Treat promises as a warning. “Lose weight in 7 days” and “100% effective” are not things a coffee can deliver.
- Do not mix with other diet products. Even the listings say so. Too much caffeine can cause jitters, a racing heart and trouble sleeping.
- Stop and see a doctor for stomach pain, a racing heartbeat, yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, severe diarrhoea or feeling unwell.
- Skip it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver, heart or thyroid problems, or take medicine, unless your doctor agrees.
- Spend on food, not coffee. A dietitian’s plan costs less than months of slimming coffee.
How we researched this guide
We searched Shopee for slimming coffee on October 13, 2026, read seven listings in full and scored four of them with our published rubric: FDA registration (25), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We searched the FDA Philippines verification portal for slimming and coffee food-supplement records and advisories, and for each brand. A brand named in an advisory fails our gate and is not recommended. The portal’s lists are capped, so a record we did not find is not proof that none exists.
The evidence comes from search summaries of reviews, a meta-analysis and case reports, not the papers themselves. We have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for weight-loss products. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best slimming coffee in the Philippines?
None of them will make you lose fat. Of the four registered ones we scored, BonaSlim 15-in-1 (66/100) and Luxe Slim Caffé Macchiato (63/100) had the clearest FDA records and listings.
Does slimming coffee really work?
We found no evidence that a slimming coffee causes fat loss. Caffeine and green coffee extract show small, short-term effects in studies, and the listings give no amounts.
Is slimming coffee FDA approved?
The FDA registers food supplements; it does not approve them. A product can be registered and still make claims that go beyond its registration. Check the number on the FDA portal.
Which slimming coffees has the FDA warned about?
Many, including Lishou slimming coffee, Lux Keto, Don's Filnafil Mangosteen, and in 2026 Dr. Alfred's Green Coffee, Hello Koffee and Dok Herbal Coffee. The advisories say they are unregistered.
Is Garcinia cambogia safe?
Case reports link it to liver injury, and the U.S. Pharmacopeia and Health Canada have reviewed the risk. All four coffees we scored list it, so ask a doctor first, especially if you have liver problems or take medicine.
Why does slimming coffee make me go to the toilet?
Some mixes contain laxative herbs such as senna, or fibre. The weight you lose is water and bowel contents, not fat.
Is slimming coffee safe for diabetics?
Luxe Slim calls itself diabetic-friendly, but the listing shows no test for it. Ask your doctor before you change what you drink.
Can I take slimming coffee while pregnant?
We do not advise it. Ask your doctor, since caffeine, Garcinia and herbal ingredients are not recommended without advice during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How many cups a day is safe?
Most listings give no directions. If you drink other coffee or tea, the caffeine adds up. Follow the pack, and stop if you feel unwell.
What does "FDA approved" on a listing mean?
Nothing official. The FDA registers food supplements. The right check is a registration number that matches the brand and product on the FDA portal.
Why do some listings put spaces between letters?
It can be a way to get words such as "weight loss" past marketplace filters. We treat it as a warning sign.
What works better than slimming coffee?
Eating less of what you already eat, moving more, sleeping well and, if needed, medical advice. A doctor or dietitian can make a plan for you.
