Our verdict
A humidifier helps only if the air is actually dry, and a dirty one can do harm. In much of the Philippines the air is usually humid (a general point we did not source), so a humidifier mainly makes sense in an air-conditioned bedroom. Health pages say humidity should stay in a middle range, around 30 to 50%, and that tanks must be emptied, dried and cleaned, so buy for easy cleaning and for a way to control the level. Of the five we scored, Simplus Ultrasonic 4.5 L (75/100) was the best value at about ₱3.00 per mL/h of output, Xiaomi Smart Humidifier 2 (73/100) was the best specified and the only one with an app-set constant-humidity mode, and Deerma LD220 (73/100) is a floor model with a humidistat.
Xiaomi Humidifier 2 Lite (67/100) is simple but has a 3-month warranty, and Deerma F628S (65/100) is cheap but sold with air-purifier and health claims it cannot back. We left out unknown brands and one Haier listing sold through a curated store, not Haier’s own shop. A humidifier is not a treatment for a cold, sinusitis or snoring. This is general information, not medical advice.
Humidifiers are sold in the Philippines for dry air-conditioned rooms, for babies’ bedrooms and for essential-oil aromatherapy. Shopee lists many, from known brands to ₱99 mini diffusers, and many of the listings promise health benefits. There is no FDA registration for a household humidifier, so we judged them on what the listing states (model, voltage, output, noise and warranty), what it claims, who sells it, and what each unit costs per millilitre of mist an hour.
₱3.00 to ₱8.70
per mL/h of mist output across the five we scored, from the Simplus at ₱1,059 for 350 mL/h to the Xiaomi Smart 2 at ₱3,050 for 350 mL/h. The same 350 mL/h costs almost three times as much with a UV lamp, an app and an official warranty.

Do you need a humidifier, and how to use one safely
These points come from search summaries of Mayo Clinic, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, hospital health libraries and Healthline, plus some retailer blogs which we treated cautiously. We did not reach the EPA’s own pages. Treat them as general advice and ask a doctor about a medical condition.
- Dirty humidifiers can make you ill. Mayo Clinic says dirty tanks and filters can grow bacteria and mold, which can trigger flu-like symptoms or lung illness even in healthy people. The CPSC found that bacteria and fungi often grow in portable humidifier tanks and can be released in the mist. Cool-mist units that hold standing water carry more of this risk.
- Clean it. Mayo Clinic advises emptying the tank and drying all surfaces daily. A hospital guide suggests changing the water daily and scrubbing the tank every three days; one HVAC maker says at least weekly. Follow the maker’s instructions and do not add anything to the water that the maker does not approve.
- Use distilled or demineralized water. Tap water causes scale and can promote bacteria, and ultrasonic humidifiers can disperse its minerals as white dust. Whether that dust is harmful is uncertain.
- Keep humidity in range. Sources give about 30 to 50% for a home; above that, bacteria and mold can grow, which can trigger allergies and asthma. A hygrometer tells you what the room is actually at.
- Do not use a humidifier all the time in humid weather. We did not find a Philippine source, and indoor humidity varies, but a hygrometer is the only way to know if the air in your room is already above the range.
- Children and warm mist. Mayo Clinic advises cool-mist units for children, since hot water or steam from a warm-mist unit can burn a child who gets too close. Keep any humidifier out of a child’s reach.
- No essential oil in the tank. Mayo Clinic says not to add anything to the water, and both Deerma listings say essential oil can crack the tank and voids the warranty. Use the separate aroma box, if there is one.
- See a doctor for breathing problems, a persistent cough, or a child with a fever or cold; a humidifier does not treat them.
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| “Air purifier”, “purifying” | A claim to clean the air | A humidifier adds water to the air; it does not filter particles. An air purifier is a different appliance |
| “Relieve sinusitis”, “heal faster”, “no more nosebleeds”, “alleviate snoring” | Health benefits | Set by the seller with no source; a humidifier is not a treatment |
| “99.9% UV-C sterilization” | A maker’s claim about a UV lamp | No test report; it does not replace emptying, drying and cleaning the tank |
| “Silver ion anti-bacterial” | A material claim | No test report; Deerma’s listing says silver ion is “not included” |
| “Constant humidity”, “intelligent” | A humidistat that holds a set level | Check the specifications; the Deerma F628S title says it, the text does not |
| “Up to 24 or 32 hours” | A run time at the lowest setting | At full output a 4 to 5 L tank lasts about 13 to 16 hours |
| “Quiet 35 dB” | A maker’s noise figure | Measured by the maker; we did not test noise |
| “1-year warranty” | Cover from the shop or the maker | Read who gives it: “supplier warranty” and “free replacement, no repair” are not the same as service-centre repair |
Humidifier listings we would be careful with
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| Haier US202 Ultrasonic Humidifier 4L, ₱1,993, sold by “Shopee Brand Finds” | Haier is a major brand, but this listing is from a multi-brand store called Shopee Brand Finds, with 27 months on Shopee, not from Haier’s own shop. The title says “Smart Purifier”; the text gives a model number, 22 W, 4 L and 220 mL/h, but no voltage, noise level, dimensions or warranty. | Not an official shop; thin listing |
| Kaisa Villa, HAN RIVER, ICON, AIODIY and similar mini humidifier and essential-oil diffusers, ₱99 to ₱479 | Small 200 mL to 1.3 L desktop diffusers. They add little moisture to a room, and the best-selling ones have no model number, voltage or warranty. We did not read them in full. | Aroma diffusers, not room humidifiers |
| HODEKT, Jiditech, ZOLELE, SMATRUL and similar 4 to 6.8 L humidifiers, ₱819 to ₱1,799 | Lesser-known brands in the offers list, some with “air purifier” in the title. We could not verify the makers or their service. | Unknown brands; not scored |
| Other listings of the same Deerma models, ₱1,315 to ₱2,505 | Our search showed several listings of the LD220, F628 and F628S at prices from ₱1,315 to ₱2,505. We did not check each shop; Deerma Philippines sold the LD220 for ₱2,149 and the F628S for ₱1,692 when we checked. | Check that the shop is Deerma Philippines |
| Any humidifier whose listing offers to cure a cold, sinusitis, asthma or snoring | A humidifier is a household appliance, not a medicine. | Claims we cannot support |
Our picks

75/100
Official shop, 493K ratings
About ₱3.00 per mL/h
12-month warranty
No model number or voltage
| Specifications stated | 4.5 L tank, 350 mL/h mist output, 25 W, 35 dB, stepless mist adjustment, 360-degree nozzle, ceramic diaphragm, top-fill (three ways), auto shut-off when the water runs out or the tank is removed, built-in aroma box |
| Run time | “Up to 26 hours” (at a low setting); at the full 350 mL/h a 4.5 L tank lasts about 13 hours |
| Warranty | 12 months, “free replacement, no repair”, with membership registration |
| Claims | “Premium ceramic diaphragm … preventing clogging and scale buildup”, “authentic PCB chip”, “purer humidification”, “nano-scale mist” |
| Missing | No model number, rated voltage, dimensions or weight, and no Philippine certification mark; no advice on cleaning or on the water to use |
| Seller | Simplus Official Shop: 5 years on Shopee, 493.5K ratings, 913K followers, 100% response; 4.9 stars from 8.7K ratings on this listing, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱1,059 (list ₱1,599); about ₱3.00 per mL/h of output, the lowest of the five |
The cheapest way to get a large-tank ultrasonic humidifier from a brand with a real shop behind it: the brand’s official store, nearly half a million ratings, 8.7K on this listing alone, a 12-month warranty and the highest output per peso of the five.
The spec list is the thinnest of the group: no model number, voltage or dimensions, so you cannot look the unit up or check it against your outlet. “Up to 26 hours” is a low-setting figure. The listing says nothing about cleaning, which matters more than the brand with any humidifier; see our safety section.
Why it scored well
- Lowest cost per mL/h; large 4.5 L tank
- Official shop with a very large rating base
- Auto shut-off when empty or the tank is lifted
Watch-outs
- No model number, voltage or dimensions
- “26 hours” is a low-setting figure
- No cleaning or water advice
Best specified; humidity control
2. Xiaomi Smart Humidifier 2, UV-C, 4.5 L, app control (Authorized Xiaomi Mall PH)
Shopee73/100
Authorized Xiaomi store
1-year official warranty
Constant 40-70% humidity via app
About ₱8.70 per mL/h
| Specifications stated | Model MJJSQ05DY, 220 V, 50 Hz, 28 W, 350 mL/h, 4.5 L tank, 38 dB or less, 1.57 kg, 190 x 335 mm; three filter wicks in the box |
| Features | UV-C lamp, constant humidity (40% to 70% set in the app), three modes, schedules, Google Assistant and Alexa compatibility; “up to 32 hours” (at a low setting) |
| Warranty | 1 year of Xiaomi official warranty, 7-day replacement for factory defects, 15-day return; service at Xiaomi centres |
| Claims | “99.9% UV-C sterilization, deactivating the DNA or RNA of bacteria”; no test report |
| Inconsistencies | The specification sheet gives the volume as 350 ml (the tank is 4.5 L) and the unit as cordless; “SIRIM Certified: No” (a Malaysian mark); no Philippine certification mark stated |
| Seller | Authorized Xiaomi Mall PH: 3 years on Shopee, 271.9K ratings, 392K followers, 100% response; 4.9 stars from 186 ratings on this listing, 773 sold |
| Price | ₱3,050 (list ₱5,999, shown as -49%); about ₱8.70 per mL/h |
The best-specified listing: a model number, voltage, frequency, power, output, tank, noise level and size are all stated, with a year of official warranty and an authorized-store seller. The feature that matters most for health is the constant-humidity setting, because it lets the unit stop at a target level instead of running past it.
The “99.9% UV-C sterilization” is the maker’s claim with no test report; a UV lamp does not replace emptying, drying and cleaning the tank, which Mayo Clinic and the CPSC stress. The humidity control needs the Mi Home app, and the listing’s spec sheet has errors. At about ₱3,000 it costs about three times as much as the Simplus.
Why it scored well
- Full spec sheet with model number and voltage
- 1-year official warranty; authorized store
- Constant humidity at a set level
Watch-outs
- UV-C claim has no test report
- Needs an app; spec sheet errors
- About ₱3,050, three times the Simplus

73/100
Humidistat and timer
Official Deerma shop
16 hours per tank
About ₱8.60 per mL/h
| Specifications stated | Cool-mist ultrasonic, 4 L removable tank, 25 W, 220-240 V, 50-60 Hz, 250 +/- 50 mL/h, 170 x 170 x 540 mm, LED display with humidistat, timer and sleep mode, auto shut-off when empty |
| Run time | “At least 16 hours per tank filling”; the title says “working 24 hours” |
| Warranty | 12 months, supplier warranty; damage from essential oils in the tank is not covered |
| Claims | None about health; a plain description of the unit |
| Inconsistencies | The gross/net weight field is blank (“/kg”); the title promises 24 hours against 16 in the text |
| Seller | Deerma Philippines: 6 years on Shopee, 266.2K ratings, 854K followers, 100% response; 4.9 stars from 395 ratings on this listing, 1K+ sold |
| Price | ₱2,149 after voucher; about ₱8.60 per mL/h |
A tall floor-standing unit with a built-in humidistat and a timer, which lets you set a target rather than guess, from the brand’s own shop. The listing gives voltage, output, size and a realistic run time, and it makes no health claims.
Its output is the lowest of the five, 250 mL/h, so it suits a bedroom, not a big room, and it costs about ₱8.60 per mL/h. A copy-paste blank in the weight field and a “24 hours” title that the text contradicts show a careless listing. Do not add essential oil to the tank.
Why it scored well
- Humidistat, timer and sleep mode
- Voltage, output and size stated; realistic run time
- No health claims
Watch-outs
- Lowest output (250 mL/h); about ₱8.60 per mL/h
- Blank weight field; “24 hours” in the title
- Supplier warranty only
67/100
Full spec sheet
Silver-ion tank claim
3-month warranty only
About ₱6.70 per mL/h
| Specifications stated | Model MJJSQ06DY, 220 V, 50 Hz, 23 W, 300 mL/h, 4 L tank, 38 dB or less, 1.4 kg, 190 x 202 x 315 mm |
| Warranty | 3 months, local supplier warranty |
| Claims | The title says “silver ion anti-bacterial material” for the tank; no test report |
| Inconsistencies | “SIRIM Certified: No” (a Malaysian mark); no Philippine certification mark stated |
| Seller | Xiaomi Mi Online: 8 years on Shopee, 108.5K ratings, 324K followers, 82% response; 4.9 stars from 202 ratings on this listing, 841 sold |
| Price | ₱1,999 (list ₱2,499); about ₱6.70 per mL/h |
A plain, well-specified humidifier from a major brand, with the model number, voltage, power, output and noise level all stated, and a tank that lasts about 13 hours at full output.
The warranty is 3 months from a local supplier, a fraction of the one-year cover on the Smart 2, and the shop is a reseller rather than the authorized store with 82% response. It has no humidistat, so you must watch the room yourself with a hygrometer. At about ₱6.70 per mL/h it is dearer than the Simplus for less output.
Why it scored well
- Model number, voltage, output and noise stated
- Major brand; simple to use
- Compact 4 L tank
Watch-outs
- Only a 3-month warranty
- No humidistat; about ₱6.70 per mL/h
- Silver-ion claim has no test report

65/100
Official Deerma shop
Big 5 L tank
Air-purifier and health claims
Manual in Chinese
| Specifications stated | 5 L tank, 25 W, 350 mL/h, 35 dB, covers 25-30 m2, runs 12-14 hours, auto shut-off when empty, separate aroma-oil box; no model number, voltage or humidistat in the text |
| Warranty | 12 months, supplier warranty; the manual is in Chinese |
| Claims | The title says “intelligent constant humidity”, “UV” and “air purifiers”; the text says it works “as air humidifier, air purifier and aroma diffuser” and lists benefits: “relieve sinusitis”, “heal faster”, “no more nosebleeds”, “alleviate snoring” |
| Inconsistencies | Neither “constant humidity” nor UV appears in the specifications; “silver ion are not included”; a list price of ₱3,699 shown with a 54% discount |
| Seller | Deerma Philippines: 266.2K ratings, 854K followers, 100% response; 4.8 stars from 2.6K ratings on this listing, 8K+ sold |
| Price | ₱1,692 (list ₱3,699); about ₱4.80 per mL/h |
A large 5 L tank, 350 mL/h of output and a long track record (2.6K ratings, 8K+ sold) at a low price, from the brand’s own shop. The unit itself is a standard ultrasonic humidifier.
The listing oversells it. A humidifier does not purify air, and the sinusitis, healing, nosebleed and snoring claims are the seller’s own, with no source. The title promises constant humidity and UV that the specifications do not mention, and the manual is in Chinese. Treat it as a basic humidifier, and keep the tank clean.
Why it scored well
- Large 5 L tank; 350 mL/h
- Official shop; many ratings
- About ₱4.80 per mL/h
Watch-outs
- Air-purifier, sinusitis and snoring claims
- Title features not in the specifications; Chinese manual
- No model number or voltage; no humidistat in the text
How to choose a humidifier
- Decide whether you need one. If a hygrometer reads 50% or more in the room, you do not. Many Philippine bedrooms are humid; air-conditioned rooms can be dry.
- Buy a hygrometer too. It costs little and tells you whether to run the humidifier and when to stop.
- Choose for cleaning. A wide-mouth tank you can reach into, a top-fill design and parts you can wipe dry make daily cleaning realistic.
- Prefer cool mist for children’s rooms and keep the unit out of reach.
- Look for a humidistat or a stated humidity range if you want it to stop at a level, and compare the real output in mL/h, not the “26-hour” figure.
- Check the specification sheet: model number, voltage and frequency (220 V, 50 Hz in the Philippines), power, output, noise and warranty. A listing with none of them is a risk.
- Buy from the brand’s own or an authorized shop and register the warranty.
- Use distilled water, no essential oil in the tank, and empty, dry and clean it every day.
How we researched this guide
We searched Shopee for humidifiers on October 13, 2026, kept established brands sold by their own, official or authorized shops, read six listings in full and scored five with an adapted version of our published rubric. The FDA axis does not apply to household humidifiers, so the first axis (25) scores provenance and compliance: the shop, the warranty, and whether the model, voltage and any certification are stated. The other axes are disclosure of specifications (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value per mL/h of output (10). We did not test any humidifier for output, noise or hygiene, and we did not verify which Philippine certification marks apply.
The health and safety points come from search summaries of Mayo Clinic, the CPSC, hospital health libraries and Healthline, and some retailer blogs, not the original pages; we did not reach the EPA. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer, and we have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for home appliances.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best humidifier in the Philippines?
Of the five we scored, Simplus Ultrasonic 4.5 L (75/100) was the best value at about ₱3.00 per mL/h, and Xiaomi Smart Humidifier 2 (73/100) was the best specified, with an app-set constant-humidity mode and a one-year official warranty.
Do I need a humidifier in the Philippines?
Often not. The air outdoors is usually humid, so a humidifier mostly helps in an air-conditioned room that feels dry. A hygrometer tells you; health pages give about 30 to 50% as the range to aim for.
Is a humidifier safe?
Generally, if it is kept clean and the room humidity stays in range. Mayo Clinic and the CPSC warn that dirty tanks grow bacteria and mold, which can be released in the mist.
How often should I clean a humidifier?
Mayo Clinic says to empty the tank and dry the surfaces daily; one hospital guide suggests changing the water daily and scrubbing the tank every three days. Follow the maker's instructions.
What water should I use?
Distilled or demineralized water. Tap water causes scale and can promote bacteria, and ultrasonic units can spread its minerals as white dust.
Can I add essential oil to a humidifier?
Not to the tank. Mayo Clinic says not to add anything to the water, and the Deerma listings say essential oil can crack the tank and void the warranty. Use a separate aroma box if the unit has one.
Cool mist or warm mist for a baby's room?
Mayo Clinic advises cool mist for children, since hot water or steam from a warm-mist unit can burn. Keep any humidifier out of a child's reach and ask your pediatrician.
Does a humidifier purify the air?
No. It adds water to the air. An air purifier filters particles. Listings that call a humidifier an "air purifier" are overselling it.
Does a humidifier cure a cold or sinusitis?
No. It can ease dry air, but it is not a treatment. See a doctor for symptoms that do not go away.
Does UV-C make a humidifier safe?
The "99.9% UV-C" claim is the maker's and the listing gives no test report. It does not replace emptying, drying and cleaning the tank.
Is the Haier humidifier on Shopee real?
Haier is a real brand, but the listing we read is from a multi-brand store, not Haier's own shop, with a thin specification. We did not score it.
What humidity level should I aim for?
Sources give about 30 to 50% for a home, and say bacteria and mold can grow above that. Some research suggests sleeping conditions can tolerate 40 to 60%. A hygrometer shows the level.
