Our verdict

“Multi cooker” on Shopee means two different things: a ₱300 to ₱900 hot pot that boils, steams and cooks noodles, or a ₱4,000 to ₱9,500 electric pressure cooker. Decide which you want first. Of the six we scored, all from brand or long-standing shops, the Tefal Home Chef Smart (83/100, about ₱9,485) is the best documented pressure multicooker, the Astron MASTERPOT180 (80/100, about ₱379) is the best proven mini cooker, and the Simplus 12-in-1 (79/100, about ₱3,999) is the cheapest pressure cooker.

Instant Pot is sold on Shopee only through Singapore import shops at about ₱17,800 to ₱18,400, with no local warranty stated, so we left it out. Home cooking is not a health treatment: the claims we check are the specifications and the warranty. This is general information, not medical advice.

An electric pressure cooker seals the lid and cooks under pressure, which is faster for rice, beans and tough meat. A mini multi-cooker is a heated pot with a steamer, with no sealed lid. Shopee mixes the two under the same name, along with rice cookers, hot pots and air fryers. We kept to brand stores or long-standing shops, read each listing in full and compared what it states, claims, covers with a warranty and costs.

₱316 to ₱9,485

is the price span of the six we scored, from the Dreepor mini cooker to the Tefal Home Chef Smart. The cheapest states no warranty; the dearest states the full specification and a 12-month warranty.

Prices and stock checked on October 15, 2026. We did not cook with any machine; the figures are those in the listings. “Not stated” means the listing does not say. Cookers are not registered with the FDA like cosmetics or supplements, so there is no FDA match to report.

Using a multi cooker safely: what the evidence says

These points come from search summaries of university extension services (Clemson, Michigan State), a non-stick cookware maker’s support page and cooker manuals, not from the original USDA or FDA documents. Treat them as general advice.

  • Do not leave a non-stick pot heating empty. Non-stick (PTFE) coatings can give off fumes if overheated, and breathing them can cause “polymer fume fever”, a short flu-like illness. A cookware maker says coatings do not break down significantly until about 600°F (316°C), though a dry pot can reach that quickly. Use low to medium heat, ventilate and stop using a pot with flaking coating. All six of these cookers have a non-stick or ceramic pot.
  • Keep-warm is for holding cooked food, not cooking. Extension sources say the danger zone is 40°F to 140°F (about 4°C to 60°C), that a keep-warm setting should hold food at 140°F or above, and that cooked food should be refrigerated within two hours.
  • Do not reheat leftovers in a slow cooker. Reheat on the stove or in a microwave to 165°F (74°C), per the extension sources.
  • A slow cooker or multi-cooker that loses power while you are out can leave food unsafe. The extension advice is to discard it if you were away.
  • Release pressure carefully. Manuals describe natural release, which can take 10 to 30 minutes or more, and quick release, which sends out scalding steam. Keep your hands and face away from the valve and open the lid away from you.
  • Small hot pots are not pressure cookers. The Astron and Dreepor models have no sealed lid or pressure release, so use them for boiling, steaming and noodles only.
  • Check the voltage and plug. The Philippines uses 220 V; we saw “110V American standard” cookers in the Shopee offer list.

It costs about 2.4 times the MASTERPOT180 with a 6-month warranty instead of 12. Despite the name it is not a pressure cooker, so do not buy it expecting Instant Pot results.

Price₱316 for the 1.8 L (list ₱659); the larger sizes cost more

The most sold item we found, at the lowest price, from a brand store with over 10,000 ratings.

The listing states no warranty, mixes up the coating (ceramic or Teflon) and lists a charging cable, which suggests pasted text. The ₱316 is the 1.8 L size, and 2 L to 3.5 L cost more.

Why it scored well

  • About ₱316; 10K+ sold; 4.7 stars from over 10K ratings
  • Two heat settings and a steamer
  • Brand store

Watch-outs

  • No warranty stated
  • Spec sheet and text disagree on the coating
  • Headline price is the smallest size

How to choose a multi cooker

  • Decide pressure or no pressure. Pressure cookers cook beans, rice and tough meat faster; a mini hot pot only boils and steams.
  • Match the size to your household. 1.8 L suits one or two people; 6 L suits a family of four or more.
  • Look for a stated voltage, power, weight and dimensions. A listing with none of them tells you little.
  • Check the warranty and the shop. Buy from the brand’s own or a long-standing shop, and note that “replacement, no repair” warranties are limited.
  • Check the voltage and plug before you buy; the Philippines uses 220 V.
  • Look for protections you can see: a pressure release button and a thermal fuse or dry-heat cut-off.
  • Plan to replace a scratched pot. Ask whether spare inner pots are sold here.

How we researched this guide

We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list and Shopee search for multi cookers on October 15, 2026. The offer list was mostly unbranded cookers with no brand, some at 110 V, so we widened to Shopee search and brand searches and kept machines from the brand’s own store (Tefal, Astron, Simplus, Dreepor) or a long-standing houseware shop (Kyowa). We read six listings in full and scored them with an adapted version of our published rubric. Cookers are not in the FDA registers we use for cosmetics and supplements, so the first axis (25) scores provenance and compliance: the shop, the warranty and what the listing states. The other axes are disclosure of specifications (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We did not cook with any machine.

The safety points come from search summaries of university extension services, a cookware maker’s support page and cooker manuals, not the original USDA or FDA documents. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer, and we have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for cookers.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best multi cooker in the Philippines?

It depends on the type. Of the six we scored, the Tefal Home Chef Smart (83/100, about ₱9,485) is the best documented pressure multicooker, the Astron MASTERPOT180 (80/100, about ₱379) is the best proven mini cooker and the Simplus 12-in-1 (79/100, about ₱3,999) is the cheapest pressure cooker.

What is the difference between a multi cooker and a rice cooker?

A rice cooker is built for rice. A multi cooker adds steaming, boiling and sometimes slow cooking, and a pressure multi cooker also seals the lid to cook under pressure. On Shopee the names are often mixed, so read the specification.

Is a pressure cooker worth it?

It is faster for rice, beans and tough meat, and it saves cooking time. For boiling, steaming and noodles for one or two people, a ₱300 to ₱400 hot pot does the job.

Is the Instant Pot sold in the Philippines?

We found it on Shopee only through Singapore import shops at about ₱17,800 to ₱18,400, with no local warranty stated, so we did not score it.

Are non-stick pots safe?

Used on low to medium heat, non-stick coatings are generally considered safe. Overheating an empty pot can release fumes that cause a short flu-like illness. Stop using a pot with a flaking or scratched coating.

Can I leave food on keep-warm overnight?

Extension sources say keep-warm should hold food at 140°F (60°C) or above and that cooked food should be refrigerated within two hours, so we would not leave it overnight.

Can I reheat leftovers in a multi cooker?

Extension sources recommend reheating on the stove or in a microwave to 165°F (74°C), not in a slow cooker.

Why does the Simplus warranty say "no repair"?

The listing says membership gives one year of "free replacement, no repair", so a faulty unit is replaced rather than fixed. The specification sheet separately says 12 months.

Is the Philips multi cooker on Shopee real?

We could not verify the "Philips 3.5 L" listings from small shops. Philips Home Appliances, the brand shop in our search, listed rice cookers rather than those models.

Do cookers need FDA registration?

We found no FDA registration category for them in the portal we use, so there is no FDA match to report. Look for the warranty and a verified shop instead.
