Our verdict

Dr.isla NG05 (71/100, ₱299) is our pick: the lowest price, a store with 440,068 followers and the only listing that tells you to shorten long nails with a clipper first. Einmilk (69) states the most numbers (about 50 dB, two rpm settings), the Dr.isla NG04 (67, ₱469) is the one you recharge by USB-C, and the NG10 (62) says the least about its motor.

All four are grinders that file nails down; none is a blade cutter, and none is a registered or tested product on the FDA portal because no registration applies. We scored what each seller states, we did not use any unit, and these are general information, not medical advice. Watch young children closely whenever you use a trimmer and stop if the skin looks red or sore.

We searched Shopee for electric, automatic and rechargeable nail clippers and trimmers, by brand and by type, on October 27, 2026, read each finalist listing and shop record, and looked the brands up in the FDA Philippines portal. Almost every well-sold “electric nail clipper” turned out to be a baby nail grinder. The adult automatic cutters we found were unbranded or from shops that opened in 2026, so they went into the “careful with” table.

₱299 to ₱469

Price of the four ranked trimmers on 27 October 2026. Per grinding head: Dr.isla NG05 ₱49.83, NG10 ₱71.50 and NG04 ₱78.17; Einmilk does not state its head count.

Prices and stock checked on October 27, 2026. Price per head is our calculation from the price and the number of heads stated. Ratings and sold counts are the figures Shopee showed that day. “Not stated” means the listing text did not say, not that the unit lacks it. We did not use or test any product.

Grinder, trimmer or clipper: what you are actually buying

These points come from reading the listings and are general information, not medical advice.

  • Almost every “electric nail clipper” with a lot of sales is a grinder: a small motor spins an abrasive head that files the nail down. It does not cut. The Dr.isla NG05 listing itself says to take off long nails with a clipper first.
  • An electric cutter with a blade exists, but the ones we found were unbranded or from shops that opened in 2026, so we did not rank them.
  • Grinders suit thin, soft nails and people who find clippers hard to use; thick toenails are slower to file. The listings give no filing-time figure.
  • The numbers that help you compare are noise (dB), speed (r/min), power source and how many heads come in the box. Most listings give only some of them.

What a regulator check can and cannot tell you here

These points are from the FDA Philippines verification portal.

  • Electric nail grinders are not FDA-registered products in the Philippines, so there is no registration number to look for. We searched Dr.isla, Einmilk, CkeyiN and Dr.spock with nail-related terms and found no device record and no advisory naming an electric nail trimmer.
  • Without a registry check, we scored provenance on what is visible: an official brand store, how long it has been open and how many people follow it.
  • None of the listings states a safety test, a material certificate or a warranty. Treat the “safe” wording as the seller’s claim.
  • The portal returns only the first matches for a name, so a missing entry is not proof that none exists.

What the claims on these listings actually mean

ClaimWhat it coversWhat the listing does not say
“Safer alternative to traditional nail clippers” (Dr.isla NG10)A comparison with blade clippersNo test or injury data
“More than three times gentler than adult models” (Einmilk)A comparison with adult grindersNo method or measurement
“Approximately 14 months of battery life” (Einmilk)A battery durationNo daily-use assumption
“Ultra quiet motor” (Dr.isla NG10)A noise claimNo decibel figure
“Without abrasion or accidental injury” (Dr.isla NG04)A safety claimNo test; a grinder can still file skin if held on it
“Skin-touch auto-stop” (Dr.isla NG05, other store listing)A safety featureNo description of how it works; not in the Dr.Isla PH listing we ranked
Claims found in the listings reviewed for this guide on October 27, 2026. We describe them; we do not endorse them.

How to choose an electric nail trimmer from these listings

If you want a manual clipper or an electric shaver instead, see our electric shaver guide for the same kind of brand check.

  • Want the lowest price from the biggest store: Dr.isla NG05 at ₱299.
  • Want the most numbers on the page: Einmilk, with about 50 dB and two stated speeds.
  • Want to avoid buying batteries: Dr.isla NG04, rechargeable by USB-C.
  • Want the clearest head-by-age guide: Dr.isla NG10, but confirm which variant and price you are buying.
  • Buy from an official Dr.isla or Einmilk store, not a reseller with the same photos.

General advice, not from the sources above: use a grinder on dry, clean nails and keep it moving, stop if the nail or skin feels hot, never press it on skin, supervise children, and keep the heads clean. Do not use any nail tool on broken, infected or painful skin or nails; see a doctor or podiatrist for ingrown or discoloured nails.

How to choose and buy an electric nail trimmer on Shopee

  • Buy from the brand’s official store: all four ranked listings are official stores.
  • Check the noise (dB), speeds and power source in the listing; if they are missing, ask the seller before you buy.
  • Compare price per head, not just price, and check which colour or variant the headline price is for.
  • Remember that most “electric clippers” are grinders: file long nails down only after shortening them.
  • Avoid unbranded sets, resellers using official photos and any listing that promises it will never hurt skin.
  • Keep the receipt and film the unboxing, as the store notes request, in case of a defect.

How we researched this guide

We searched Shopee for electric, automatic, rechargeable, Xiaomi, Philips, Panasonic and Dr.isla nail clippers and trimmers on October 27, 2026 and read each finalist listing and shop record through Shopee. We looked the brands up in the FDA Philippines verification portal and found no applicable record. We scored each product with our published rubric: provenance and registration (25, scored on brand and store record because no registration applies), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We did not use or test any unit.

This guide is general information, not medical advice. Because no FDA registration applies, our provenance scores are lower than in guides where a registry match was possible. We could not verify any seller’s stock, battery claims, noise figures or packaging. This guide has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer, and we have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for this category.

Frequently asked questions

Are electric nail trimmers FDA registered in the Philippines?

No registration applies to electric nail grinders that we could find. We searched the FDA portal for Dr.isla, Einmilk, CkeyiN and Dr.spock with nail terms and found no device record or advisory.

Does an electric nail clipper cut or grind?

Most of the popular ones grind: a motor spins an abrasive head. The Dr.isla NG05 listing even says to shorten long nails with a clipper first.

Which electric nail trimmer is cheapest?

Dr.isla NG05 at ₱299 on 27 October 2026, then Einmilk at ₱361, Dr.isla NG10 at ₱429 (plus variant) and NG04 at ₱469.

Is a grinder safe for newborns?

We cannot say. The listings say it is, but none shows a test. Ask your baby's doctor, supervise closely and stop if the skin looks red or sore.

Which one is rechargeable?

Of the four ranked, only the Dr.isla NG04 (USB Type-C). The other three use batteries that are not included.

Why not rank the adult electric cutters?

The ones we found were unbranded or from shops that opened in 2026, so we could not check a brand record.

Why are there three Dr.isla stores?

Shopee lists Dr.Isla PH, Dr.isla and Dr.isla Pilipinas as official stores. We ranked listings from each, and listings from non-official shops were left out.

Did you test these trimmers?

No. We read the listings, checked the shops and the FDA portal, and scored what the sellers put in writing.
