Our verdict
Memory foam pillows are not FDA-registered products, so the only thing to score is what each listing tells you, and most tell you very little. We scored five popular listings on foam and cover details, claims, consistency, seller record and price. Surplus Ergonomic Memory Foam Pillow (71/100) was the only one to state both the foam and the cover fabric with percentages.
COSOVA (61/100) gives the most information but backs few of its claims, WalterMart (56/100) is plain and sparse, DreamHug (50/100) is a wedge set with medical conditions in its title, and Dofia (44/100) has an empty description. Two cheaper listings, at ₱307 and ₱65, call themselves memory foam while their descriptions name latex or “memory cotton”.
A pillow does not treat neck pain, snoring, acid reflux or sleep apnea. If you have one of these, or pain that does not go away, see a doctor.
A memory foam pillow costs anywhere from ₱65 to more than ₱1,000 on Shopee, and the listings use the same words (“memory foam”, “orthopedic”, “cervical”) for very different products. This guide reads the listings for the information a buyer needs: what the foam is, how big and how high the pillow is, what the seller claims and what is left out.
0 of 5
listings we scored state the density of the foam, the number that tells you how long a pillow keeps its shape. Only one names a certification, and it prints no certificate number.

What matters in a memory foam pillow
These points come from search summaries of retailer, industry and review pages; we did not read the original papers, and many of the sources sell pillows. Treat the numbers as rough guides.
- Height matters more than the fill. A 2021 systematic review by Pang, Tsang and Fu in Clinical Biomechanics is reported to find that the shape and height of a pillow affect neck alignment more than what it is filled with. We could not read the paper.
- Match the height to how you sleep. Sources suggest about 7 to 9 cm for back sleepers and about 8 to 11 cm for side sleepers (wider shoulders need a higher pillow), and a very thin pillow or none for stomach sleepers. The ranges differ between sources. Of our five, the listed heights are 12 cm (Surplus), 10 cm (COSOVA), 7 cm (Dofia) and a 7 cm headrest (DreamHug); WalterMart gives none.
- Density tells you how long it lasts, not how soft it is. Foam density is measured in kilograms per cubic metre. More material in the foam generally means it keeps its shape longer. A phrase like “high density” with no number is marketing. Firmness is a separate measure. None of our five listings gives a density.
- Certifications cover different things. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests textiles for harmful substances, so it speaks to the cover. CertiPUR-US certifies foam, and it does not mean the foam is chemical-free or hypoallergenic. A real OEKO-TEX certificate has a number you can look up in the OEKO-TEX Label Check, which shows whether it is valid, expired or withdrawn.
- A pillow supports; it does not treat. We found nothing in the sources we read to show that a pillow treats neck pain, and they describe pillows as a way to support alignment. See a doctor for pain that continues.
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| “Memory foam” or “slow rebound” | A foam that recovers slowly after pressure | Some listings that use these words describe latex, “memory cotton” or fibre in the description. Read the whole listing |
| “Orthopedic” | A marketing word | No medical registration or clinical evidence is shown in any listing we read |
| “Cervical”, “neck pain relief” | A hope for relief | A pillow supports the neck; none of the listings supports the claim of relief |
| “For sleep apnea, acid reflux, snoring” | A medical claim in a title | The description gives no angle or source. A doctor decides what helps these conditions |
| “Hypoallergenic”, “anti-mite”, “antibacterial” | A hope about allergies | No test, standard or lab named |
| “OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified” | Textiles tested for harmful substances | Ask for the certificate number and check it. It does not cover the foam |
| “65% less tossing”, “10x cleaner” | A number | No test or source given |
| “Buy 1 take 1” or “75% off” | A discount | Compare with the real selling price, not a crossed-out list price |
Listings we would check twice
These were for sale on Shopee when we checked. We read the first two in full.
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| JS Shop “Orthopedic Soft Neck Pillow Fiber Slow Rebound Memory Foam Pillow (Magic Pillow)”, ₱307 | The specifications say “Memory Pillow”, the description says “Fill: Memory Cotton” and “Material: latex”, the height is 7 cm in one place and “1-5 cm” in another, and there is no warranty. The seller notes the foam may have “minor scratches or holes” and says it can “effectively prevent cervical problems”. | Material unclear; claim unsupported |
| Mila Living “Soft Pillow Fiber Slow Rebound Memory Foam Pillow”, from ₱65 | The specifications say “Memory Foam” while the description says “Material: LATEX” and “Fill: Memory Cotton”, with a pillow height of “1-5 CM”. Over 8,000 buyers rated it 4.7, mostly for the price. | Material unclear |
| Wedge sets titled “for Sleep Apnea, Acid Reflux, Snoring”, about ₱1,159 | The title names medical conditions. We did not read the full listing. | Medical claim; not reviewed |
| Many “orthopedic contour” pillows from ₱185 to ₱794, some sold as buy 1 take 1 | Dozens of near-identical listings. We did not read them. | Not reviewed |
Our picks

71/100
Core and cover composition stated
No density or firmness
₱599
12 cm high
| FDA status | Not applicable: ordinary bedding pillows are not FDA-registered products. We found no FDA advisory naming the brand |
| Foam stated | “Memory Foam 100% Polyether Urethane” |
| Cover stated | 60% polyester and 40% lyocell (the listing spells it “Lyacell”) |
| Size | 59 x 32 x 12 cm |
| Density, firmness, care, warranty, certification | None given |
| Seller | SurplusPH: 5 years on Shopee, 77.3K ratings, 123K followers, 73% response rate; 598 sold on this listing, 4.9 stars from 138 ratings |
| Price | ₱599 for one pillow (listed as 40% off ₱999) |
The only listing we read that tells you what the pillow and its cover are made of, in plain terms and with percentages: a polyether urethane memory foam core and a polyester and lyocell cover. It also gives a full size, including a 12 cm height, which is the number you need to match a pillow to your shoulders. At ₱599 for one pillow it is also the cheapest of the full-size options.
It still leaves out the foam density, the firmness, how to wash it, any warranty and any certificate. The line “soothe head, back and shoulder discomfort” is a comfort claim with nothing behind it. At 12 cm it is a tall pillow, which may be too high for back sleepers.
Why it scored well
- Foam type and cover fabric stated with percentages
- Full size with height
- Lowest price per full-size pillow
Watch-outs
- No density, firmness, care or warranty information
- “Soothe discomfort” is an unsupported claim
- 12 cm may be tall for back sleepers

61/100
Two foam layers described
OEKO-TEX claimed, no number
Percentages with no source
1-month warranty
| FDA status | Not applicable: ordinary bedding pillows are not FDA-registered products. We found no FDA advisory naming the brand |
| Foam stated | Material “Memory Foam, Foam”; soft memory foam top layer over a firm support foam base |
| Cover stated | Imported knitted fabric, “ice-silk” fabric |
| Size and weight | 70 x 42 x 10 / 8 cm, 0.9 kg; soft firmness |
| Certification | “OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified”; no certificate number shown |
| Warranty and care | 1 month warranty; spec says “Dry clean, do not wash”, the description says it is “easy to clean” |
| Seller | COSOVA store: 27 months on Shopee, 42.6K ratings, 197K followers, 100% response rate; 4.9 stars from 336 ratings on this listing |
| Price | ₱999 to ₱1,998 depending on the variant (listed as 75% off ₱3,999 to ₱4,999) |
The most complete listing we read: two foam layers are described, the size, weight and firmness are given, it names a certification and it states a warranty. It is also the most heavily marketed. It says the pillow gives “65% less tossing and turning”, “60% better” airflow and is “10x cleaner than regular pillows”, and none of these comes with a test or a source.
The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 claim can be checked: the number printed on a real certificate can be looked up in the OEKO-TEX Label Check, and this listing prints no number. The label covers textiles, so it speaks to the cover rather than the foam. The care instructions contradict each other, the list price is four to five times the sale price, and a one-month warranty is short for a ₱1,000 pillow.
Why it scored well
- Layers, size, weight and firmness described
- Names a certification that can be checked
- Brand store with a long record and fast replies
Watch-outs
- Percentages (“65% less tossing”, “10x cleaner”) with no source
- No certificate number; no density
- Care instructions contradict each other; 75% off a high list price

56/100
Memory foam and bamboo fabric
No height given
₱500 each
Reviews from 2021 to 2023
| FDA status | Not applicable: ordinary bedding pillows are not FDA-registered products. We found no FDA advisory naming the brand |
| Foam stated | “Memory foam” |
| Cover stated | Bamboo fabric |
| Size | 52 x 32 cm; no height |
| Density, care, warranty, certification | None given |
| Seller | WalterMart: 7 years on Shopee, 58.6K ratings, 68K followers, 86% response rate; 307 sold, 4.8 stars from 105 ratings |
| Price | ₱999 for two pillows, about ₱500 each |
A short, plain listing from a department-store seller with seven years on Shopee. It names the foam and the bamboo cover and gives a length and width. It lists “hypoallergenic, hygienic, durable” without anything behind them.
There is no height, so you cannot judge whether it suits your sleeping position, and no density or care information. The newest reviews we saw date from 2023, so the current stock may differ from what those buyers received.
Why it scored well
- Foam and cover fabric named
- Established seller; two pillows in the set
- Straightforward wording
Watch-outs
- No height, density, care or warranty
- “Hypoallergenic” and “hygienic” unsupported
- Latest reviews seen are from 2023

50/100
Best wedge set, with a warning
4. DreamHug Memory Foam Bed Wedge Pillow Set, backrest and leg pads
ShopeeWedge set, not a head pillow
24-month warranty
Medical conditions in the title
Materials without proportions
| FDA status | Not applicable to a bedding pillow. The title names medical conditions, so check the claim section below. We found no FDA advisory naming the brand |
| Materials stated | Polyester fiberfill, memory foam, foam and cotton; amounts not given |
| Firmness and care | Medium firm; hand wash or machine washable |
| Pieces and size | Footrest 51 x 18 x 47 cm, headrest 51 x 20 x 7 cm, cushion 50 x 64 x 20 cm, small cushion 52 x 34 x 15 cm; 3 or 4 piece sets |
| Warranty | 24 months |
| Seller | DreamHug: 18 months on Shopee, 22.2K ratings, 27.6K followers; 1K+ sold, 4.9 stars from 466 ratings |
| Price | ₱1,099 to ₱3,199 depending on the set (listed as 66% off ₱3,200) |
This is a different product from the others: a wedge and cushion set for sitting up in bed, not a pillow for your head. It has the most useful spec fields of the five (firmness, care, piece sizes and a 24-month warranty), and a clear note that thickness can vary after the item arrives.
The title says it is for sleep apnea, acid reflux and GERD, and the description says nothing about any of them: no angle, no source, no medical support. Customers say it helps their reflux; that is their experience, not the seller’s claim. If you have one of these conditions, a doctor decides what helps, not a listing title.
Why it scored well
- Sizes of every piece given
- Firmness, care and a 24-month warranty stated
- Honest note that dimensions can vary
Watch-outs
- Medical conditions in the title with no support
- Material proportions not given
- A wedge is not a replacement pillow

44/100
Popular, but the listing says little
5. Dofia Soft Memory Foam Slow Rebound Neck Pain Relief Cervical Support Pillow, buy 1 take 1
ShopeeEmpty description
No units on the size
“Neck pain relief” in the title
₱340 each
| FDA status | Not applicable to a bedding pillow. The title promises neck pain relief, so check the claim section below. We found no FDA advisory naming the brand |
| Foam stated | “Memory Foam” |
| Size | 50 x 30 x 7, with no unit given |
| Description | Empty |
| Firmness, density, care, warranty, certification | None given |
| Seller | DOFIA OFFICIAL STORE: 5 years on Shopee, 199K ratings, 375K followers; 6K+ sold, 4.8 stars from 1.9K ratings |
| Price | ₱679 for two pillows, about ₱340 each (listed as 55% off) |
One of the best-selling listings in the search, with 6,000 sold and a large store behind it. The listing itself says very little: the product description is empty, the specifications give “memory foam” and a size without units, and nothing on firmness, density, care or warranty.
The title promises “neck pain relief” and “cervical support”, and nothing in the listing supports either. Buyers say it is soft and comfortable and some say it helps their neck; those are reviews, not claims by the seller. At 7 cm it is a low pillow, which suits back sleepers more than side sleepers.
Why it scored well
- Two pillows for ₱679
- Large, established store
- Strong buyer reviews
Watch-outs
- Empty description and thin specifications
- “Neck pain relief” with no support
- Size has no unit; 7 cm is low for side sleepers
How to choose a memory foam pillow
- Start with your sleeping position. Back sleepers usually want a lower pillow, side sleepers a higher one to fill the gap between the ear and the shoulder, stomach sleepers a very thin one.
- Find the height in the listing, in centimetres. If it is missing, ask the seller before you buy.
- Ask what the foam is, its density if the seller knows it, and whether the cover comes off and can be washed.
- Be wary of a very low price for a “memory foam” pillow, and of descriptions that name more than one material.
- Ask for the OEKO-TEX certificate number if the listing claims a certification, and check it in the OEKO-TEX Label Check.
- Check the return policy and keep the packing video: a new foam pillow can smell for a few days, and a pillow you cannot return is a bigger risk.
- Give it time, a week or two, and see a doctor if your neck pain, headaches or snoring continue.
How we researched this guide
We searched Shopee for memory foam pillows on October 12, 2026, read seven listings in full and scored five of them with our published rubric, adapted for a product the FDA does not register: what the listing says about the foam, cover and size (25), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), the seller’s record (15) and value (10). We searched the FDA Philippines verification portal for pillow records and for each brand’s name, and found no advisory and no bedding-pillow registrations. Scores reflect what the listing says, not a test of the pillow.
The evidence in this guide comes from search summaries of retailer and review pages, not the papers themselves. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best memory foam pillow in the Philippines?
Of the five listings we scored, Surplus Ergonomic Memory Foam Pillow (71/100) states the most about what it is made of. COSOVA (61/100) is the most detailed but least sourced.
Are memory foam pillows FDA registered?
No. Ordinary bedding pillows are not an FDA-registered product class in the Philippines, and we found no bedding-pillow records on the FDA portal. A pillow sold with medical claims is a different matter, so be careful with those.
How do I know if a pillow is real memory foam?
Read the whole listing. If the description names latex, "memory cotton" or fibre while the title says memory foam, ask the seller. A genuine foam pillow slowly returns to shape after you press it.
What pillow height should I get?
Sources suggest about 7 to 9 cm for back sleepers, about 8 to 11 cm for side sleepers, and very thin for stomach sleepers. The ranges vary, and your shoulder width matters.
What does foam density mean?
It is how much foam is packed into a cubic metre, in kilograms. A higher density generally keeps its shape longer. It is a different measure from firmness.
Does OEKO-TEX Standard 100 mean the pillow is safe?
It means a textile passed tests for harmful substances. It speaks to the cover, not the foam, and you should check the certificate number in the OEKO-TEX Label Check.
Will a memory foam pillow cure neck pain?
We found no evidence in the sources we read that a pillow treats neck pain. A good pillow supports your neck, and persistent pain needs a doctor.
Are "orthopedic" pillows better?
"Orthopedic" is a marketing word on these listings. None of them shows a medical registration or clinical evidence.
Can I wash a memory foam pillow?
Check the listing. COSOVA says "dry clean, do not wash", DreamHug says it can be hand or machine washed. Many sellers do not say, so ask before you buy.
Why does a new pillow smell?
New foam can smell for a few days. Let it air out. If a strong smell continues, contact the seller.
Is a pillow for sleep apnea or acid reflux a good idea?
A doctor decides what helps these conditions. A wedge pillow titled for them gives no medical support in its listing.
How often should I replace a pillow?
We did not find a firm figure in the sources we read. Replace it when it has lost its shape or no longer supports your neck.
