Our verdict

Tempra Cool Touch for Kids (84/100, about ₱28 per sheet) is our pick: it states the age, ingredients and its limits, and it is notified with the FDA as a medical device. ByeBye-FEVER for Children (74) has the clearest safety warnings.

A cooling sheet makes a feverish child feel more comfortable; it does not treat the cause of a fever. We found only two kids’ sheets on Shopee that match a current FDA notification, so this guide is short on picks and long on what to check. This is general information, not medical advice.

We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list and Shopee search for cooling gel sheets and fever patches on October 18, 2026, by brand (Koolfever, ByeBye-FEVER, Tempra, Biogesic, Pinkfong) and by store, and looked each one up in the FDA Philippines medical device records. We ranked only children’s sheets whose exact product name matches a current notification.

2 of 6

Children’s cooling sheet brands we found on Shopee whose exact product matches a current FDA device notification. The best-selling kids’ sheet is not one of them.

Are cooling gel sheets registered with the FDA?

Yes: in the Philippines, cooling gel sheets and patches are notified as medical devices (CMDN numbers). FDA advisories have warned against several unnotified cooling patches, including generic “cooling patch” products sold with foreign-language labels (for example Advisories 2020-1781, 2021-0109, 2023-0166 and 2023-1762). An advisory can also be lifted once a product is notified: Watsons’ own baby cooling patch was named in Advisory 2022-0216 and is now notified (CDRRHR-CMDN-2022-985004).

On 18 October 2026 we found current notifications for kids’ sheets from Tempra, ByeBye-FEVER, Biogesic Fever Care (Unilab, CDRRHR-CMDN-2023-1404736), Fevercare (Aglobal Care) and “KOOLFEVER HALF for Kids”. We found only Tempra and ByeBye-FEVER for sale on Shopee from an official or Mall store. Biogesic and Fevercare may be easier to find in drugstores.

Caring for a toddler with a fever: what the NHS says

These points come from the UK National Health Service page on high temperature (fever) in children. Philippine paediatricians may advise differently for your child; this is general information, not medical advice.

  • Give plenty of fluids. Breastfed babies should keep breastfeeding as usual.
  • Do not cover your child in too many clothes or bedclothes.
  • Do not undress your child or sponge them down to cool them. The NHS notes that a high temperature is a natural response to infection.
  • Get urgent medical advice if a baby under 3 months has a temperature of 38°C or higher, a baby aged 3 to 6 months has 39°C or higher, the fever has lasted 5 days or more, or your child will not eat or is not their usual self and you are worried.
  • Get emergency help if your child has a stiff neck, is drowsy and hard to wake, has difficulty breathing, has a first fit, or has a rash that does not fade when you press a glass against it.

A cooling sheet fits alongside this advice as a comfort measure. Tempra’s own listing says its sheet cools the skin surface and complements fever medicine. For which medicine to give and how much, ask your doctor or pharmacist; medicines are outside the scope of this guide.

What the claims on these listings actually mean

ClaimWhat it coversKey exclusion
“Fever relief”, “relieves fever”, “fever reducing”Comfort from a cool sheet on the foreheadA sheet cools the skin surface; it does not treat the cause of a fever
“Lowers temperature on the surface of the skin” (Tempra)An honest description of what a cooling sheet doesNot the same as lowering body temperature

“Non-medicinal”, “drug-free”No medicine in the sheetSome sheets still contain menthol or borneol, which can irritate skin
“Fragrance-free”No added fragrance (Tempra says so)Tempra’s ingredient list includes menthol

Cooling sheet listings we would be careful with

ProductWhat we foundOur check
Koolfever Cooling Gel for Kids and for BabiesThe best-selling kids’ sheet on Shopee (Philusa Corporation, Southstar Drug and Watsons). The only Koolfever device record we found is “KOOLFEVER HALF for Kids” (CDRRHR-CMDN-2021-847192, to 15 September 2031), which we did not find on Shopee. We found no record under the “Kids” or “Babies” product names; the record may exist under a name we could not match. The Philusa listing calls it “non-medicinal” and promises “fever relief”.Not scored: no matching device record found; check the CMDN number on the box
Cottoncare Baby Cooling Gel Fever PatchOfficial Cottoncare shop, 20K+ sold on its 6-piece listing. We found no device record for Cottoncare. Contains mint and borneol, says “Safe for all ages” yet warns against use with G6PD deficiency, and the “6pcs” title conflicts with “Each pack contains 3 Cooling Gel Strips”.Not scored: no record found; borneol and mint
Pinkfong Baby Shark cooling gel sheets and Kobayashi NetsusamaImported versions sold by resellers. We found no Philippine device record for either. Not scored: no record found
Unbranded “antipyretic” and “fever ice” patches (20 to 100 pieces)Cheap multi-packs, many shipped from abroad, sometimes sold for adults, children and pets alike. FDA has warned against unnotified cooling patches. Not scored: unnotified products
Bye Bye Fever from Indonesian shopsSingle sheets shipped from Indonesia; the Philippine notification covers Hisamitsu’s local supply. Not scored: cross-border
Look for the CMDN number on the box or check the exact product name in the FDA verification portal.

Price₱56 for 2 sheets, about ₱28 per sheet (18 October 2026)

Tempra is the only listing that states the age (2 and up), the ingredients and how long a sheet lasts, and it is honest about what the sheet does: it cools the surface of the skin and “complements” fever medicine rather than replacing it. That kind of limit is rare on these listings and is the main reason it ranks first. It is an exact match to a current device notification held by Taisho, the brand’s maker in the Philippines.

The listing calls it fragrance-free, but menthol is in the ingredient list, which matters if your child’s skin is sensitive. The precautions field is empty, so read the box for the warnings before use. A 2-sheet pack is small; buy two if you expect a long night.

Why it scored well

  • States age, ingredients and duration
  • Says what it cannot do
  • Current notification to 2030

Watch-outs

  • Contains menthol despite “fragrance-free”
  • Precautions missing from the listing
  • Only 2 sheets per pack

Price₱153 (18 October 2026); sheet count not stated. Southstar Drug sells a 2-sheet pack for ₱56, about ₱28 per sheet.

ByeBye-FEVER is made by Hisamitsu and notified under this exact children’s name. Its listing has the most complete safety instructions we found, including the one that matters most for toddlers: supervise use, and make sure the sheet does not end up in the mouth or over the nose and mouth.

It does not say how many sheets are in the box, so you cannot work out the price per sheet from this listing. It gives no age, ingredients or hours of cooling. The notification runs out on 5 February 2027; check the FDA portal for a renewal before buying after that date.

Why it scored well

  • Clearest safety and choking warnings
  • Exact notification for the children’s version
  • Made in Japan by Hisamitsu

Watch-outs

  • Sheet count not stated
  • No age, ingredients or duration
  • Notification expires February 2027

How to choose and use a cooling gel sheet for a toddler

  • Choose a children’s version and check the age on the box. Tempra states 2 years and up; ask your doctor before using any sheet on a baby.
  • Look up the exact product in the FDA verification portal (medical devices), or find the CMDN number on the box.
  • Stay with your child. The ByeBye-FEVER listing warns that a sheet must not go into the mouth or cover the nose and mouth; take it off before your child sleeps unsupervised if you are unsure.
  • Do not put a sheet on broken skin, rashes, eczema or near the eyes, and stop if the skin turns red or itchy.
  • Be careful with menthol, mint and borneol on sensitive skin, and avoid sheets with borneol if your child has G6PD deficiency.
  • Use each sheet once. You can chill a sheet in the refrigerator for extra coolness, but not in the freezer (ByeBye-FEVER instructions).
  • Watch the child, not the sheet: follow the NHS warning signs above and see a doctor when they apply.

How we researched this guide

We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list for cooling gel sheets, Koolfever and fever cooling patches on October 18, 2026, then searched Shopee by keyword and by brand and read each listing in full. We looked each product up in the medical device records and advisories of the FDA Philippines verification portal, including broad searches for any record held by Kobayashi, Hisamitsu and Taisho. We scored products with our published rubric: provenance and registration (25), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We did not use or test any product.

Only two products met our rule of an exact, current device notification and an official or Mall seller, so we ranked two rather than padding the list. The fever section is general information from the NHS, not medical advice. This guide has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer, and we have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for this category.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best cooling gel sheet for toddlers in the Philippines?

In our review Tempra Cool Touch for Kids scored highest (84/100): it is FDA-notified as a medical device, states ages 2 and up, lists its ingredients and costs about ₱28 per sheet.

Do cooling gel sheets bring down a fever?

They cool the skin surface and can make a child more comfortable. Tempra's own listing says the sheet complements fever medicine; it does not treat the cause of a fever.

Are cooling gel sheets safe for toddlers?

Use a children's version, check the age on the box, and supervise. ByeBye-FEVER warns that the sheet must not go into the mouth or cover the nose and mouth.

Can I use a cooling sheet on a baby?

Some brands sell baby versions, but ask your doctor first. The NHS says a baby under 3 months with a temperature of 38°C or more needs urgent medical advice.

Why is Koolfever not ranked?

The only Koolfever device record we found is for "KOOLFEVER HALF for Kids", which we did not find on Shopee. We found no record under the Kids or Babies names; check the CMDN number on the box.

Are cooling gel sheets FDA registered?

They are notified as medical devices in the Philippines (CMDN numbers). FDA has warned against several unnotified cooling patches.

Should I sponge my child with cold water?

The NHS advises not to undress your child or sponge them down to cool them. Give plenty of fluids and do not over-bundle them.

When should I take my child to a doctor for a fever?

The NHS lists, among others: a fever lasting 5 days or more, a child who will not eat or is not their usual self, or emergency signs such as a stiff neck, difficulty breathing or a rash that does not fade under a glass.

Can I put a cooling sheet in the freezer?

No. ByeBye-FEVER says you can chill it in the refrigerator but not the freezer.

Is menthol in a cooling sheet a problem?

It can irritate sensitive skin. Tempra lists menthol even though it calls the sheet fragrance-free; stop if the skin turns red.

How long does one sheet last?

Tempra says up to 10 hours per sheet; the ByeBye-FEVER listing does not say. Use each sheet only once.

Did you test these cooling sheets?
