Our verdict
If you want a cream or serum for fine lines, retinol has the best evidence of any ingredient you can buy without a prescription, and the cheap, well-documented options are as good a place to start as the ₱2,000 ones. Of the six we scored, the Belo Essentials Retinol Deep Repair Serum (83/100, about ₱550) is the best documented, the Dermorepubliq 0.3% retinol serum (80/100, about ₱314) is the cheapest with an exact FDA match, and the Cetaphil Healthy Renew serum (77/100, about ₱1,910) is the retinol-free choice with a printed ingredient list.
We did not cover prescription tretinoin or other drugs. Retinol is not for use in pregnancy without a doctor’s advice, and daily sunscreen matters more than any serum. Anti-aging products do not erase wrinkles. This is general information, not medical advice.
Anti-aging products on Shopee fall into three groups: retinol and other vitamin A serums and creams, peptide and vitamin C products, and everything labelled “anti-wrinkle”, “collagen” or “lifting” with no named active. We kept to brands with an exact FDA cosmetic notification, sold by their own or an official store, read each listing in full and compared what it states, claims and costs.
₱840 to ₱6,367
is the price per 100 ml of the cheapest and dearest serums we scored, The Originote Retinol B3 and the Cetaphil Healthy Renew. The cheapest names three retinoids and no strength; the dearest has no retinol, and its “9 signs of aging” claim is the maker’s own.

Anti-aging basics: what the evidence says
These points come from search summaries of dermatology papers and clinic articles, not from the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) pages themselves. Treat them as general advice.
- Retinoids have the strongest evidence for fine lines and sun damage. A meta-analysis of randomized trials found prescription tretinoin improved both fine and coarse wrinkles. Over-the-counter retinol has a smaller evidence base, and one review says it needs higher concentrations than tretinoin to change skin, with less irritation.
- Peptides and vitamin C have much thinner evidence. One paper notes a “paucity” of clinical studies showing they work for facial aging, and the studies we found were small, open-label and funded by the maker. Results were modest, such as an 11.5% fall in the number of wrinkles after 29 days of one product.
- Start slowly. The AAD advice reported by clinic sources is to begin at a lower strength, apply at night, and build up from every other night or twice a week to daily use as the skin tolerates it.
- Expect some dryness or peeling, which should settle as skin adjusts. Stop if irritation is severe. People with darker skin should watch for irritation that leaves dark marks.
- Wear sunscreen every day. Retinoids make skin more sensitive to the sun, and sun damage is what causes most wrinkles. A serum does not replace it; see our sunscreen guide.
- Avoid retinoids in pregnancy unless a doctor agrees. Our sources did not address this directly, but topical retinoids are generally discouraged in pregnancy and when trying to conceive; ask your doctor.
- Do not stack many actives at once. Using a retinoid with acids and strong exfoliants can irritate skin and makes it hard to tell what helps.
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| “Retinol alternative” | A marketing term for a non-retinol active | Not a proven equivalent; the evidence is for retinoids |
| “Visibly reduces wrinkles in 28 nights”, “in 2 weeks” | A maker’s timeline | Usually from the maker’s own test; results vary |
| “0.3% retinol”, “high-strength” | The stated percentage of retinol | 0.3% is a modest strength; “high” is a label |
| “Microencapsulated” | Retinol released more slowly | Meant to reduce irritation; not proven for every skin |
| “Suitable for beginners”, “non-irritating” | A maker’s statement | Anyone can react; patch test and start slowly |
| “Dermatologist-tested” | A brand statement | No study or number is shown on the listing |
| “Collagen”, “peptide complex” | Ingredients named | Collagen on skin does not rebuild collagen; evidence for peptides is thin |
| “FDA-notified” | The cosmetic was notified to the FDA | Not a test of safety or of results; check the exact name |
Anti-aging listings we would be careful with
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| Unbranded “anti-wrinkle” creams, ₱64 to ₱1,225 | Most of the Shopee offer list: “gold collagen”, “cordyceps”, “snail” and “bird’s nest” creams with “BPOM” or “Japanese” claims, long keyword titles and no brand we could match. | Not scored |
| Imported “from Japan” retinol serums, ₱880 | Import listings with one sale and no local notification we could match. | Not scored |
| Kiehl’s Micro-Dose retinol serum, ₱6,050 | Listed by a shop we did not identify as a Kiehl’s store, at a premium price. | Not scored |
| Luxe Organix and other retinol “radiance” serums, ₱129 to ₱549 | Retinol-named serums from small retailers; we did not read them in full. | Not scored |
| Retinol capsules and “doc” serums, ₱806 | A capsule product with whitening and anti-aging claims from a small shop. | Not scored |
| Pond’s Age Miracle creams, ₱169 to ₱872 | Notified by Unilever, but the listings in our search came from a general retail shop and we did not read them in full. | Not scored |
| Prescription tretinoin and “retinoid” gels | Drugs, not cosmetics; some listings sell them without a prescription. | Outside this guide |

The best documented retinol product here: a stated 0.3% retinol, a frequency to start at (two to three nights a week), a sunscreen reminder and an exact FDA notification, for about ₱550.
The notification runs only to December 2026, so check the portal if you buy later. There is no full ingredient list, and “dermatologist-tested” and “good for beginners” are the maker’s claims. The free sunscreen is a “whitening” product, so read its own listing.
Why it scored well
- Retinol strength, frequency and sun advice stated
- Exact FDA notification; 3.1K ratings, 9K+ sold
- About ₱550 for 30 ml with a sunscreen included
Watch-outs
- Notification valid only to December 2026

80/100
Exact FDA notification
0.3% retinol + niacinamide
Start 1 to 2 nights a week

| Claims | “High-strength formula”; “helps improve fine lines, texture and dullness” |

| Seller | Dermorepubliq: 6 years on Shopee, 1.2M followers; 4.9 stars from 159 ratings on this listing, 526 sold |
| Price | ₱314 after voucher for the listed size (30 ml or 15 ml options) |
A local brand’s retinol at a clear 0.3% for about ₱314, with an exact FDA notification, a start-slowly instruction and a sunscreen reminder.
0.3% is a mild-to-moderate strength, not “high”, and the specification sheet is full of pasted fields. It has fewer ratings than the Belo serum, and the notification runs to February 2027. It contains snail secretion filtrate, which some people avoid.
Why it scored well
- Strength and a start-slowly instruction stated
- Exact FDA notification; about ₱314
- Pairs retinol with niacinamide
Watch-outs
- “High-strength” at 0.3% is a stretch
- Pasted and contradictory specification fields
- Notification valid to February 2027; 159 ratings

| Price | ₱1,910 (about ₱6,367 per 100 ml) |
A fragrance-free peptide and niacinamide serum with a printed ingredient list, an exact FDA notification and no retinol, so it suits people who cannot or will not use a retinoid.
It costs about six times the Belo serum per ml. “A retinol alternative” and “9 signs of aging in 2 weeks” are marketing claims, and the evidence for peptides is much thinner than for retinol (see below). Only 31 ratings are on the listing.
Why it scored well
- Full ingredient list; exact FDA notification
- No retinol; fragrance-free; usable morning and evening
- Flagship store; notification valid to 2029
Watch-outs
- About ₱1,910; the dearest per ml here
- “Retinol alternative” is not a proven equivalent

4. The Originote Retinol B3 Serum 20 ml (The Originote Store)
ShopeeLazada75/100
FDA-notified
Retinol + retinal + HPR
Full ingredient list
About ₱168
| FDA status | A notified “The Originote Retinol B3 Serum” (Goodsale Tech), NN-1000016518912, valid to July 2027. The listing prints NN-1000013315174, which is the number of a differently named “Beauty in Unity” Retinol B3 Serum |
| Specifications stated | Full ingredient list with retinol, retinal and hydroxypinacolone retinoate, niacinamide, collagen, peptides and ceramide; 20 ml; 2 to 3 drops after toner |
| Claims | “Helps delay signs of aging”; “reduces wrinkles and fine lines” |
| Missing | No percentages for any retinoid, no advice on how often to use it and no sunscreen reminder |
| Seller | The Originote Store: 4 years on Shopee, 685.8K ratings, 619.5K followers; 4.9 stars from 7.7K ratings on this listing, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱168 (list ₱235), about ₱840 per 100 ml |
The cheapest serum here, with the whole ingredient list printed and three forms of vitamin A, from a shop with 7.7K ratings on this listing.
Three retinoids with no stated strength and no “start slowly” advice is a lot for a beginner, and the listing prints a notification number that belongs to a differently named product. Use it two or three nights a week at first and wear sunscreen.
Why it scored well
- About ₱168; full ingredient list
- 7.7K ratings; 10K+ sold
- Notified under its own name
Watch-outs
- No retinoid strengths and no usage frequency
- Printed notification number is for another product name
- Three retinoids may irritate a beginner
Big brand, thin listing, dear
5. Olay Retinol 24 Anti-Aging Cream Moisturizer 50 g (Olay Official Store)
Shopee70/100
FDA-notified Retinol24 night moisturiser
Fragrance-free
10K+ sold
About ₱2,099
| FDA status | A notified “Olay Regenerist Retinol24 Night Moisturiser” (P&G Philippines), NN-1000013465736, valid to August 2027. The listing is titled “Olay Retinol 24 Anti-Aging Cream”, so the name differs slightly |
| Specifications stated | Niacinamide and retinol complex; “visibly reduces wrinkles in 28 nights”; fragrance-free; 50 g |
| Missing | No ingredient list and no retinol percentage |
| Inconsistencies | The specification sheet lists “SPF 50” for a night cream and “travel size” for 50 g, and the description ends with a long hashtag list including “soap bar” and “eye cream” |
| Seller | Olay Official Store: 7 years on Shopee, 228.6K ratings, 338K followers; 4.9 stars from 7.9K ratings on this listing, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱2,099 (list ₱2,408), about ₱4,198 per 100 g |
The best-known retinol night cream, from the brand’s official store, with 7.9K ratings and a notified Retinol24 night moisturiser.
It costs about twelve times the Dermorepubliq serum per ml and the listing states no strength and no ingredients. “SPF 50” on a night cream is wrong or pasted, and a retinol product should not be relied on for sun protection. “28 nights” is the maker’s claim.
Why it scored well
- Official store; 7.9K ratings; fragrance-free
- Notified Retinol24 night moisturiser
- A cream, which can feel gentler than a serum
Watch-outs
- About ₱2,099; no strength or ingredients stated
- “SPF 50” on a night cream; hashtag list
- Notified name differs slightly from the listing
Peptide cream, partial FDA match
6. Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Anti-Aging Moisturizer 50 g (Olay Official Store)
ShopeeLazada63/100
Collagen peptide + niacinamide
Morning and night
Partial FDA match
About ₱2,099
| FDA status | We found no notification with this exact name. The closest are “Olay Regenerist Super Collagen Peptides Moisturiser” (NN-1000012839723, valid to July 2027) and an Eyes Collagen Peptide 24 eye cream, so the match is partial |
| Specifications stated | Collagen peptide and niacinamide; hydrates for 24 hours; use on face and neck, morning and night; 50 g |
| Claims | “Instantly plumps, visibly firms and smoothens fine lines” |
| Inconsistencies | The specification lists SPF 50, AHA/glycolic acid and a 3-year shelf life, none of which the description mentions, plus the same hashtag list |
| Seller | Olay Official Store: 4.9 stars from 1.4K ratings on this listing, 4K+ sold |
| Price | ₱2,099 (list ₱2,408) |
A peptide and niacinamide moisturizer from the official store that you can use morning and night, without retinol.
We could not match the exact name to a notification, the specification claims an SPF and an AHA that the description does not, and it costs about ₱4,200 per 100 g. We ranked it last for that reason.
Why it scored well
- Official store; 1.4K ratings; 4K+ sold
- No retinol; usable day and night
- Niacinamide and peptide named
Watch-outs
- No notification found under this exact name
- Spec sheet lists an SPF and an AHA the text does not
- About ₱2,099 with no ingredient list
How to choose an anti-aging product
- Start with sunscreen, then add a retinoid at night if you want one.
- Choose a stated strength and a usage instruction. A listing with neither tells you little.
- Start two nights a week and build up; stop if skin stays red or sore.
- Look up the exact product name in the FDA verification portal, and check the dates.
- Read the ingredient list when there is one, and skip fragrance if your skin reacts.
- Do not expect miracles in two weeks. Changes from retinol take months.
- Ask a doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have eczema, rosacea or very sensitive skin.
How we researched this guide
We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list and Shopee search for anti-aging and retinol products on October 15, 2026. The offer list was mostly unbranded “anti-wrinkle” creams and Indonesian-brand retinol serums such as Hanasui and MS Glow, so we widened to Shopee search and brand searches and kept products from the brand’s own or an official store that we could match to a FDA cosmetic notification in the FDA Philippines verification portal. We read the listings in full and scored them with our published rubric: FDA status and provenance (25), disclosure of ingredients and sizes (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We did not use any product.
The evidence points come from search summaries of dermatology papers and clinic articles, not the AAD pages. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer, and we have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for anti-aging products.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best anti-aging serum in the Philippines?
Of the six we scored, the Belo Essentials Retinol Deep Repair Serum (83/100, about ₱550) is the best documented, the Dermorepubliq 0.3% retinol serum (80/100, about ₱314) is the cheapest with an exact FDA match, and the Cetaphil Healthy Renew serum (77/100) is the retinol-free choice.
Does retinol really work for wrinkles?
Retinoids have the strongest evidence for fine lines and sun damage. Prescription tretinoin is the best studied, and over-the-counter retinol has a smaller evidence base and needs time, often months.
How do I start using retinol?
Begin with a lower strength at night, two nights a week, and build up as your skin tolerates it. Wear sunscreen in the daytime. Stop if irritation is severe.
Can I use retinol if I am pregnant?
Topical retinoids are generally discouraged in pregnancy and when trying to conceive. Ask your doctor before using one.
Do peptides and collagen creams work?
The evidence is much thinner than for retinol, and the studies we found were small and funded by the makers. They may help modestly with hydration and texture; do not expect them to rebuild collagen.
Is the Cetaphil serum a real retinol alternative?
It is a peptide and niacinamide serum sold as a retinol alternative. We found no independent evidence that it matches retinol; its benefit is that it suits people who cannot use a retinoid.
Why is the Belo notification a concern?
The notification we matched runs only to December 2026. Check the FDA portal if you buy later, and note that a notification is not a test of safety.
Why is the Olay collagen cream ranked last?
We found no notification with that exact name, its specification sheet claims an SPF and an AHA that the description does not, and it costs about ₱4,200 per 100 g.
Are the ₱100 anti-wrinkle creams worth it?
We did not score them. They are from unknown brands with long keyword titles and claims such as "gold collagen" or "snail", with no named active or notification we could match.
What does FDA-notified mean?
The company told the FDA about the cosmetic and got a notification number. It is not a test of safety or of whether it reduces wrinkles.
