Our verdict
Lysol Disinfectant Spray Crisp Linen 510 g (86/100, ₱589) is the best all-round disinfectant spray on Shopee: an exact FDA household record, the brand’s own store, and the only listing with full directions and a 10-minute contact time that also has a registry match. FamilyGuard (78/100, ₱361) is the non-alcohol option, Solbac (75/100, ₱399) is the cheapest per gram but its listing never says how to disinfect, and Clorox Expert (72/100, ₱307) has the best-written listing but no FDA record we could find.
The most-sold “disinfectant” sprays on Shopee are unbranded room and linen sprays, and the Dettol sprays we found came from shops with no followers and no sales. This guide is general information, not medical advice. A spray is not a treatment for an illness.
We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list and Shopee search for disinfectant sprays on October 23, 2026, then searched by brand and looked each one up in the FDA Philippines household-product register. Ready-to-use disinfectant sprays are recorded there with a HUHSR number; we ranked sprays sold by the brand’s own Mall store.
32%
How much more per gram the small Lysol can costs: the 170 g can is ₱259 (₱152.35 per 100 g) and the 510 g can is ₱589 (₱115.49 per 100 g), from the same store on 23 October 2026. Compare cans by price per 100 g or ml, not by price on the tag.

Using a disinfectant spray: what the FDA says
General information, not medical advice. These points come from FDA Philippines Advisory No. 2020-549, “Reminders to the General Public on the Proper Selection and Use of Household Cleaners and Disinfectant Products”, and Advisory No. 2020-852 on misleading claims. Both are about household products in general, not these four.
- Clean first, then disinfect. The FDA says to pre-clean with mild soap or detergent and water before disinfecting for best results. A spray on a dirty surface does less.
- Respect the contact time. The FDA tells you to follow the label for instructions, dilution and contact time. On the listings we read, Lysol says 10 minutes and Clorox says 5 minutes (30 seconds for soft surfaces); FamilyGuard and Solbac give none on the page.
- Use it as intended. The FDA warns against using a surface disinfectant as a hand sanitizer. A disinfectant spray is for objects and surfaces, not skin.
- Ventilate, wear gloves, do not mix. The FDA advises proper ventilation, gloves when handling chemical cleaners, and never mixing cleaners or disinfectants with other chemicals, which can make a more hazardous mixture or a weaker product.
- Keep it away from children, store it in a properly labelled container, and know your nearest poison centre. The FDA gives the University of the Philippines National Poison Management and Control Center number as (02) 8524-1078.
- Watch for flame. The registry lists ethyl alcohol in Lysol and Solbac, and Clorox’s listing warns to keep its aerosol away from heat, sparks and open flames. Keep any aerosol away from candles, stoves and lighters (general advice; the Lysol and Solbac listings do not mention it).
- Be wary of big promises. FDA Advisory No. 2020-852 warns that disinfectants must not bear misleading claims, such as curing disease or lowering the risk of COVID-19. A spray does not treat or prevent an illness on its own (general advice).
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| “Kills 99.9%” of viruses, bacteria and fungi | The brand’s test result against a list of germs | No listing shows the test, the contact time on every surface, or which germs are in the 0.1%; Solbac makes no such claim |
| “Effective against COVID-19 including Omicron” (Lysol) | A claim against one virus | The listing shows no test report; FDA Advisory No. 2020-852 warns against misleading disinfectant claims |
| “Kills H1N1” (FamilyGuard) | A claim against one flu virus | No test or contact time on the page |
| “30-second sanitization” (Clorox) | Sanitizing soft surfaces such as fabric | Disinfecting hard surfaces needs 5 minutes in the same listing |
| “Mould and mildew control for up to a week” (Lysol) | A stated effect on surfaces | No test or conditions shown |
| “Regular air fresheners do not have this antimicrobial action” (FamilyGuard) | A comparison with air fresheners | The page gives no contact time or test for the comparison |
| “Safe for the environment with pets” (FamilyGuard); pet-surface use for three scents only (Lysol) | Pet-related wording | Neither is a safety test; keep pets away while spraying and until dry, as Lysol’s listing says |
| “Eliminates odors” | Masking or reducing smell | Does not mean germs are killed; Solbac’s listing makes only this claim |
| “Disinfectant” in the title of a linen or room spray | A word in a product name | Only a household-product record under that name shows it is registered; we could not match the unbranded linen sprays to one |
Disinfectant spray listings we would be careful with
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| Dettol household disinfectant sprays, ₱946 to ₱3,516 (Makati and other shops, 0 sold) | About 20 listings with long keyword titles (“Refrigerator Cleaner”, “Children’s Toys”), all showing 0 sold and no ratings. The three shops we checked have 0 followers and were opened on 24 September 2026, 30 September 2026 and 9 November 2025. We found no Dettol household disinfectant record, and the FDA has issued advisories against 10 Dettol products (soaps, wipes, gel). | Not scored (new shops, no record) |
| Unbranded “linen spray disinfectant”, ₱72 to ₱358 (up to 500K sold) | Room and car sprays with “disinfectant” in the title and no recognisable brand, one in a 1-gallon size. We could not match them to a household-product record. | Not scored (no brand, no record found) |
| Vunguard All-Purpose Disinfectant Spray 500ml, ₱103 to ₱108 (regular shops, 2K sold) | We found no household-product record for Vunguard, and FDA Advisory No. 2026-0902 (August 2026) warns against a different Vunguard item, an isopropyl alcohol sanitizing solution. | Not scored (no record) |
| Tuff Germban Multi-Purpose Disinfectant & Room Spray 250ml, ₱189 to ₱249 (regular shops) | We found no household-product record under “Germban”. | Not scored (no record) |
| Craftology Room & Linen Disinfectant Spray, ₱195 (regular shop, 10K sold) | We found no household-product record for Craftology; the FDA has advisories on other Craftology items. | Not scored (no record) |
| Lysol 510 g from regular shops, ₱495 | The same brand as our top pick, but not from the official store; we did not check the seller’s stock or expiry. | Not scored (buy from the official store) |
| Pet disinfectant sprays (Petsup, Safe House, Kleen Kenel), ₱149 to ₱299 | Pet-specific products, not the household disinfectants this guide compares; we did not check their records. | Out of scope |
| Hypochlorous acid DIY kits and fogging liquids, ₱199 to ₱576 | Mixed at home or used as a fog. FDA Advisory No. 2020-496 warns against do-it-yourself hand sanitizers and disinfectants. | Not scored |
| Alcohol sprays (Alcoplus, Defensil, Hygienix), ₱25 to ₱415 | Alcohol solutions for hands and skin, regulated differently from surface disinfectants; outside this guide. | Out of scope |
| GERMACLEAN Disinfectant Spray (Dynast, Philippines) | Has a household-product record (HUHSR-20251103-00051, to 3 November 2027) but we did not find it on Shopee. | Not scored (not found on Shopee) |
Our picks

86/100
Alcohol-based
FDA household record
10-minute contact time
₱115.49 per 100 g
| FDA status | Lysol Disinfectant Spray, HUHSR-20250502-00019 (Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare (Philippines) Inc., ready to use, valid to 2 May 2028); Crisp Linen is one of the listed variants; a second record, HUHSR-20240627-00022, covers other scents to 27 June 2027; no advisory found |
| Active ingredient (registry) | Ethyl alcohol; not stated on the listing |
| Specifications stated | 510 g can; Crisp Linen; hard surfaces (door handles, toys, counters, bins, car interior, sports equipment) and soft surfaces (upholstery, mattresses, curtains) |
| Directions stated | Pre-clean; hold upright 15 to 20 cm; spray 3 to 4 seconds; leave 10 minutes on hard or soft surfaces; air-dry; on fabric, wet but do not saturate |
| Claims | “Kills 99.9% of fungi, viruses, and bacteria … in 10 minutes”; “tested and proven effective against COVID-19 including the Omicron variant”; controls mould and mildew “for up to a week”; “kills over 100 illness-causing germs” |
| Missing | No precautions, flammability or ventilation warning; no test shown for the germ and COVID claims |
| Seller | Lysol and Reckitt Home Official Store (Shopee Mall): joined 2021, 244.7K followers, 95% response; 4.93 stars from 2,558 ratings on this listing, about 8K sold |
| Price | ₱589 for 510 g = ₱115.49 per 100 g (170 g: ₱259 = ₱152.35 per 100 g) |
The only listing in this guide that tells you how to use the can: pre-clean, hold it 15 to 20 cm away, spray for 3 to 4 seconds, then leave it for 10 minutes before wiping or drying. That contact time is the part most people skip, and the part that decides whether a spray disinfects at all. The brand’s own Mall store sells it, and an exact FDA household-product record covers the Crisp Linen scent.
The listing stops short of a safety section. The registry names ethyl alcohol as the active ingredient, but the listing does not, and it carries no warning about flame or ventilation. The “effective against COVID-19” and “kills 99.9%” lines are the brand’s claims; the listing shows no test report, and FDA has warned against misleading disinfectant claims. It is dearer per gram than Solbac, the other pick sold by weight, so buy the 510 g can, not the 170 g.
Why it scored well
- Full directions with a 10-minute contact time
- Exact FDA household record, valid to May 2028
- Brand’s own Mall store with 2,558 ratings on this listing
Watch-outs
- No safety or flammability warning on the listing
- Germ and COVID claims have no test shown
- 170 g can costs 32% more per gram than the 510 g

78/100
Quat-based, no alcohol listed
FDA household record
No directions on listing
₱128.93 per 100 ml
| FDA status | FamilyGuard disinfectant ROOM AND MULTISURFACE AEROSOL, Fresh Floral, HUHSR-20260318-00021 (S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc., ready to use, valid to 18 March 2029); no advisory found |
| Active ingredients (registry) | Alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium saccharinate and triethylene glycol (a quaternary ammonium disinfectant, not an alcohol); not stated on the listing |
| Specifications stated | 280 ml aerosol; Fresh Floral; for toilet bowls, washbasins, doorknobs, kitchen and garbage cans, closets, a “room with sick people” |
| Claims | “Kills 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, and fungi”; “kills H1N1 virus”; “regular air fresheners do not have this antimicrobial action”; “safe for the environment with pets” |
| Missing | No directions, spray distance or contact time; no precautions or storage advice |
| Seller | SC Johnson Official Store (Shopee Mall): joined 2020, 369K followers, 100% response; 4.94 stars from 678 ratings on this listing, about 1K sold |
| Price | ₱361 for 280 ml = ₱128.93 per 100 ml |
A different chemistry from the other two aerosol sprays here. The registry lists a quaternary ammonium compound and triethylene glycol, with no alcohol among the listed ingredients, which may suit people who do not want an alcohol spray around a stove, candle or lighter. The brand’s own Mall store sells it, it has the longest record of the four on Shopee (listed since 2020), and the exact Fresh Floral variant has a current FDA household record.
The listing tells you what it kills but not how to get it to do so. There are no directions, no spraying distance and no contact time, so you would have to read the can. “Kills H1N1” and “regular air fresheners do not have this antimicrobial action” are claims without a test behind them on the page. If you buy a different scent, check that variant in the registry: the record for the best-selling Mountain Air shows more than one version, one of them expired in May 2026 and a renewal running to 2031.
Why it scored well
- Exact FDA household record for the Fresh Floral variant, valid to March 2029
- Non-alcohol active ingredient
- Brand’s own Mall store, listed since 2020
Watch-outs
- No directions or contact time on the listing
- No precautions on the page
- Other scents have differently dated records

75/100
Alcohol-based
Made in the Philippines
Listing is about odour
₱99.75 per 100 g
| FDA status | Solbac Disinfectant Spray, HUHSR-20250130-00011 (Consumer Care Products, Incorporated, ready to use, valid to 30 January 2028); Fresh Linen is a listed variant; no advisory found |
| Active ingredient (registry) | Ethyl alcohol; made in the Philippines by Aero-Pack Industries; not stated on the listing |
| Specifications stated | 400 g (also 300 g); three scents (Lavender Mist, Citrus & Greens, Fresh Linen); for the air and soft surfaces such as pillows, sofas, curtains and fabrics |
| Claims | “3-in-1 action partner that eliminates tough odors, instantly freshens the air, and leaves a lasting, pleasant scent” |
| Inconsistencies | Sold as a “disinfectant spray”, but the listing makes no germ-kill claim and gives no contact time |
| Missing | No directions, no precautions, no flammability warning |
| Seller | Consumer Care Products Inc. (Shopee Mall): joined 2021, 16.6K followers, 100% response; 4.95 stars from 1,534 ratings on this listing, about 9K sold |
| Price | ₱399 for 400 g = ₱99.75 per 100 g (300 g: ₱318 = ₱106.00 per 100 g) |
The lowest price per gram of the sprays that state a weight in grams, made in the Philippines, with an exact household-product record for the Fresh Linen scent and the official store behind it. It makes the fewest promises of the four: the listing talks about odour, freshness and fabrics, not about killing germs.
That restraint is honest, but it leaves you with a product called a disinfectant and a page that never says how to disinfect with it. There is no contact time, no directions and no safety line, even though the registry lists ethyl alcohol. We would use it as a fabric and room freshener, and follow the can for anything else. For disinfecting surfaces, the Lysol listing gives the information you actually need.
Why it scored well
- Lowest price per 100 g among the gram-sized sprays
- Exact FDA household record, valid to January 2028
- Plain claims about odour and freshness
Watch-outs
- Listing never says how to disinfect
- No safety or flammability warning
- Title and description do not match

72/100
Aerosol
Directions and warnings stated
No FDA record found
₱92.47 per 100 ml
| FDA status | No Clorox product record found in the FDA household-product register (searches “clorox” and “expert”); no advisory found; scored on the brand and its Mall store only |
| Specifications stated | 332 mL aerosol; ready to use; for hard, non-porous surfaces and soft surfaces such as couches, linen, mattresses, shoes and public transport seats |
| Directions stated | Clean heavily soiled surfaces; hold upright 20 cm; spray until wet; stand 5 minutes to disinfect and deodorize; on soft surfaces stand 30 seconds to sanitize; air-dry; rinse food-contact surfaces with potable water |
| Claims | “Kills 99.9% of viruses, bacteria & fungus”; “30-second sanitization”; “eliminates odors” |
| Precautions stated | Keep out of reach of children; eye and face protection; wash hands after use; keep away from heat, sparks and open flames; do not store above 50 C; keep out of sunlight |
| Inconsistencies | “30-second sanitization” is in the benefits, but disinfecting hard surfaces needs 5 minutes in the directions |
| Seller | The Clorox Company (Shopee Mall, official): joined 2020, 10.8K followers, 98% response; 4.91 stars from 107 ratings on this listing, 654 sold |
| Price | ₱307 for 332 mL = ₱92.47 per 100 ml |
The most complete listing of the four: separate directions for hard and soft surfaces, two contact times, a food-contact rinse note, and a plain precautions and storage section that mentions heat, sparks and open flames. It is the cheapest per 100 ml and comes from Clorox’s own Mall store.
We rank it last because we could not match it to an FDA household-product record. Clorox appears in the register only as a licensed establishment, not under this product name, and that may be a naming gap rather than a missing registration, but we cannot show it. The listing also puts “30-second sanitization” in the benefits next to a 5-minute contact time for disinfecting; read the directions, not the headline.
Why it scored well
- Directions, contact times and precautions all stated
- Lowest price per 100 ml
- Brand’s own Mall store
Watch-outs
- No FDA household record found under this name
- “30-second” headline vs 5-minute directions
- Only 107 ratings on this listing
How to choose a disinfectant spray
- Look for the directions first. A listing that gives a spraying distance and a contact time is telling you how the product is meant to be used. One that does not, such as Solbac’s, leaves you to the can.
- Pick by active ingredient: an alcohol spray (Lysol, Solbac) dries quickly but is flammable; a quaternary ammonium spray (FamilyGuard) has no alcohol. Both are ready to use. Ask a doctor if anyone in the home has asthma or breathing problems (general advice).
- Compare per 100 g or ml, not per can. The same Lysol costs 32% more per gram in the small can.
- Check the exact name and scent in the FDA verification portal. A brand can be registered while one scent or size is not, and a record can have older versions.
- Buy from the brand’s official store and check the expiry date on arrival. FamilyGuard’s listing notes the date format is DD/MM/YY.
- Do not use it on skin or food, do not spray near children or pets, and keep it away from flame (general advice; follow the label).
- Soap and water cleans; a disinfectant adds a step. For ordinary surfaces, cleaning first may be all you need (see our all-purpose cleaner guide).
How we researched this guide
We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list and Shopee search for disinfectant sprays on October 23, 2026, then searched by brand (Lysol, FamilyGuard, Solbac, Clorox, Dettol, Zonrox, Sanicare, Mr. Muscle, Vunguard, Tuff Germban, Germaclean and others). We identified each shop (Mall status, year joined, followers, ratings, response rate), read the full listings and looked each one up in the FDA Philippines verification portal, including advisories. We scored four with our published rubric: provenance and registration (25), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We did not use or test any product.
Registration shows that a product is recorded with the FDA, not that its germ-kill claims are proven; we saw no test report for any claim. The registry search returns only the first matches for a word, and Clorox was matched by brand and store only, so a product we list as “not found” may be recorded under a name we did not try. The safety points come from FDA Philippines advisories on household cleaners; they are general information, not medical advice. This guide has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer, and we have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for this category.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best disinfectant spray in the Philippines?
Of the sprays we could check, Lysol Disinfectant Spray Crisp Linen 510 g (86/100, ₱589) scored highest: an exact FDA household-product record, the brand's own Mall store, and full directions with a 10-minute contact time.
Is Lysol spray FDA registered in the Philippines?
Lysol Disinfectant Spray has two records in the FDA household-product register: HUHSR-20250502-00019 (valid to 2 May 2028; includes Crisp Linen) and HUHSR-20240627-00022 (valid to 27 June 2027).
How long should a disinfectant spray stay wet?
Follow the label. On the listings we read, Lysol says 10 minutes and Clorox says 5 minutes for hard surfaces and 30 seconds for soft surfaces. FamilyGuard and Solbac give no contact time on the page.
Do I need to clean before I spray?
Yes. FDA Philippines advises pre-cleaning with mild soap or detergent and water before disinfecting, for best results.
Is FamilyGuard alcohol-based?
The FDA register lists a quaternary ammonium compound and triethylene glycol for FamilyGuard, with no alcohol. The register lists ethyl alcohol for Lysol and Solbac.
Is Solbac really a disinfectant?
It has a household-product record as a disinfectant spray, but its Shopee listing only claims it removes odour and freshens air and soft surfaces. It does not say how to use it to disinfect.
Why is Clorox ranked last?
We could not find a Clorox product record in the FDA household-product register under the product name. The listing itself is the most complete of the four, so this may be a naming gap; we could not confirm it.
Can I use disinfectant spray on my hands or skin?
No. FDA Philippines advises against using surface disinfectants as hand sanitizers. Use a registered hand sanitizer or soap and water.
Is disinfectant spray safe around pets and children?
Keep children and pets away while spraying and until the surface is dry, and keep the can out of reach. Lysol's listing allows pet-surface use for only three scents; FamilyGuard's says "safe for the environment with pets", which is not a safety test.
Can I mix a disinfectant spray with other cleaners?
No. FDA Philippines advises against mixing cleaners or disinfectants with other chemicals; the mixture can be more hazardous or less effective.
Are the cheap "linen spray disinfectant" listings safe to buy?
We could not find a household-product record for the unbranded ones we checked. Check the exact product name in the FDA portal before buying, and treat the word "disinfectant" in a title as marketing until you do.
Who do I call if someone swallows a disinfectant?
FDA Philippines gives the University of the Philippines National Poison Management and Control Center number as (02) 8524-1078. Call your nearest poison centre or go to an emergency room right away.
