Our verdict
For dry, irritated or eczema-prone skin in hot, humid weather, a plain fragrance-free moisturiser used every day is the product to buy, and the main risk on Shopee is not the brand but the look-alike. The FDA has named CeraVe-labelled and Aveeno-labelled “itch relief” and “eczema therapy” creams as unauthorized cosmetics, and Shopee is full of imports like them. Of the five authentic listings we scored, Vaseline Pro Derma Repair Cream (76/100) had the best paper trail and value, and CeraVe Moisturising Cream (73/100) is the best-known.
Physiogel (68/100) has the most honest listing but costs about three times as much per 100 ml, Aveeno Dermexa (64/100) sells a cosmetic with treatment-style wording, and Cetaphil from S&R (60/100) is the cheapest per gram with a careless listing.
A moisturiser does not treat eczema. If skin is red, weeping, cracked, spreading or very itchy, or you suspect a fungal infection, see a doctor. This guide covers skin care only, not medicines such as steroid or antifungal creams. This is general information, not medical advice.
Heat and sweat are common triggers for eczema flare-ups, and Philippine summers, with El Niño, are long and humid. Most skin doctors suggest the same basics: lukewarm short showers, a fragrance-free cleanser, a moisturiser applied to damp skin after bathing and again through the day, and breathable cotton. This guide checks the moisturisers sold for dry, sensitive and eczema-prone skin on Shopee against the FDA Philippines records, and scores what each listing tells you.
3
big brands we checked, CeraVe, Aveeno and Eucerin, have products named in FDA advisories as unauthorized or unnotified cosmetics, including CeraVe Itch Relief Moisturizing Lotion and Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream. Many “eczema relief” imports on Shopee are the same kind of product.

What helps skin that is dry, irritated or prone to eczema in the heat
These points come from search summaries of clinic, hospital and dermatology pages, and some are written by skin-care brands. Treat them as general advice and ask a doctor about your own skin.
- Sweat and heat are common triggers. Dermatologists quoted in the articles we read say sweat, hot weather and humid air commonly set off flares, and that heavy bedding raises skin temperature.
- Moisturise every day, not only when it flares. Fragrance-free, ceramide-containing emollients, applied several times a day and after showers, are the usual advice, and applying to damp skin after bathing helps trap moisture.
- Keep showers short and lukewarm, about 10 minutes or less, with a gentle fragrance-free cleanser. Rinse off after sweating or exercise.
- Wear loose cotton and keep the room cool. A lighter blanket and a cooler bedroom help at night.
- A cream is not a treatment. When over-the-counter care does not control eczema, doctors may prescribe a steroid cream for a flare. Do not use a steroid or other medicated cream on a child or on the face without advice.
- Heavy creams can feel clogging in humid heat. Some heat-rash advice says to avoid thick creams, ointments and powders on a rash, so use a lighter lotion on sweaty, rash-prone skin and a richer cream on dry patches.
What the claims on these listings actually mean
| Claim | What it covers | Key exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| “Fragrance-free” | No added perfume | Fragrance is a common irritant. It does not mean the product suits every skin |
| “Hypoallergenic”, “dermatologist tested” | A brand statement | Not a guarantee that you will not react. Patch test a new product on a small area |
| “Clinically proven” hydration or relief | A brand’s own test | Check the footnote: how many people, how long, what was measured |
| “Barrier repair”, “ceramides” | A moisturising ingredient claim | It helps dry skin hold water. It does not treat eczema |
| “Eczema lotion”, “relieves eczema”, “atopic dermatitis” | A treatment-style claim | A cosmetic cannot treat a skin disease. Eczema that is severe, weeping or spreading needs a doctor |
| “Steroid-free” | No steroid in the product | It does not mean the product treats eczema as well as a steroid does |
| “Itch relief”, “pramoxine” | A medicine-type claim | Pramoxine is a drug ingredient. Skincare sold with it, such as the imports below, is a warning sign |
| “FDA approved” or a US “skin protectant” label | A US drug label | The FDA in the Philippines notifies cosmetics and registers drugs separately. US over-the-counter drug creams sold as skincare are not Philippine products |
Eczema and itch creams we would be careful with
| Product | What we found | Our check |
|---|---|---|
| “cera Itch Relief Moisturizing Cream 340g Pramoxine Anti Itch Cream for Dry Itchy Eczema Prone Skin”, about ₱380 to ₱488, 1K+ sold | CeraVe Itch Relief Moisturizing Lotion is named in FDA Advisory 2024-1762 as an unauthorized cosmetic, and pramoxine is a drug ingredient. These listings use the CeraVe look and name with a lower-case “cera” or none. We did not read them in full. | Look-alike of a product the FDA warned about |
| Aveeno Eczema Therapy creams and balms from US-import shops, ₱1,195 to ₱2,200; “Aveeno Eczema Rescue Relief Gel Cream 50ml” at ₱132 from mainland China | “Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream” is named in FDA Advisory 2024-1654. A ₱132 price from China is not a price for the real product. | Unauthorized imports; probable fakes |
| US over-the-counter eczema products: Gold Bond Ultimate Eczema Relief, Dermarest Eczema Medicated Lotion, Curel Itch Defense, Vaseline Clinical Care Eczema Calming | US drug-labelled “skin protectant” or medicated products sold on Shopee as skincare. They are not Philippine-registered, and a medicated lotion is a medicine. | Medicine-type imports; not covered |
| Unbranded “Eczema treatment cream”, “Eczema Relief Creamy Oil”, “Anti Itch Cream”, about ₱285 to ₱434 | No maker on the listing, big discounts, and a promise to treat a skin disease. | No maker to check |
| Cetaphil from gray-market shops with US pack sizes (453 g) and titles with letters spaced out, such as “C e t a p h i l” | Many are small shops with 1 to 30 sales. Spaced-out titles are a way around marketplace filters. | Prefer a store you can trust |
| Eucerin Original Healing Emollient | Named in FDA Advisory 2020-1114 as an unauthorized cosmetic. We did not look for it on Shopee. | FDA warning |
Our picks
Best-documented, best value
1. Vaseline Pro Derma Moisturising Repair Cream, Fragrance Free, Body and Face, 190 g
ShopeeLazada76/100
FDA notification matched
Full ingredient list
Fragrance-free
About ₱350 per 100 g
| FDA status | A notified “Vaseline PRO DERMA Moisturising Repair Cream Body & Face Fragrance Free” record exists (Unilever Philippines), NN-1000015860605, valid to February 2029. The FDA notifies cosmetics; it does not approve them |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Printed in full: water, glycerin, dimethicone, cetyl palmitate, ceramides NP, AP and EOP, hyaluronate, petrolatum, phenoxyethanol and others |
| Fragrance | Fragrance-free; “dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin” |
| Claims | “Keeps skin deeply moisturised for up to 72 hours”; “boosts hydration by 82%+ and improves the skin’s moisture-locking ability within 2 weeks”, footnoted as a clinical test, twice a day, results vary |
| Seller | Watsons Official Store: 13.9M ratings, 100% response; 5.0 stars from only 16 ratings on this listing, 57 sold |
| Price | ₱665 for 190 g, about ₱350 per 100 g |
The best documented of the five: the exact product name is notified with the FDA, the full ingredient list is printed, it is fragrance-free, and the headline result (82% more hydration in two weeks) carries a footnote saying it came from a clinical test, with twice-daily use and individual variation. It also costs about half as much per 100 g as Aveeno Dermexa and less than a third as much as Physiogel.
It is a moisturiser, not a treatment, and the listing does not claim to treat eczema. The listing is thin on reviews (16 ratings), and its specifications call a 190 g body cream a “travel size” for the “face”. A cream with petrolatum and dimethicone is rich: on sweaty skin in humid weather, a lighter lotion may feel better.
Why it scored well
- Notified with the FDA by exact name
- Full ingredient list; fragrance-free
- Footnoted clinical claim; low price per 100 g
Watch-outs
- Few ratings on this listing
- Specifications say travel size and face for a body cream
- A rich cream can feel heavy in humid heat

73/100
Best-known barrier cream
2. CeraVe Moisturising Cream for Dry to Very Dry Skin (454 g, 177 ml or 50 ml)
ShopeeOfficial store
Full ingredient list
Fragrance-free
Odd specifications
| FDA status | Notified CeraVe “Moisturizing Cream” records exist (Scent and Beaute, Inc.), for example NN-1000016285328 (valid June 2028), plus an “Intensive Moisturising Cream” (NN-1000015613603). The FDA has named other CeraVe-labelled imports as unauthorized cosmetics, including “CeraVe Itch Relief Moisturizing Lotion” (2024-1762) |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Printed in full: water, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, petrolatum, dimethicone, phenoxyethanol, ceramides NP, AP and EOP, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, sodium hyaluronate |
| Claims | “Helps restore the skin’s protective barrier”, “24-hour hydration”, “fragrance-free”, “non-comedogenic”, “developed with dermatologists”; use “as directed by a physician” |
| Specifications | Tick “anti-bacterial”, “non-chemical” and “no-rinse”; the expiry-date field reads 03/21/2026 |
| Seller | CeraVe Official Store: 18 months on Shopee, 51K ratings, 131K followers, 100% response, fulfilled by Shopee; 4.9 stars from 8.1K ratings, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱1,421 for the default option; the listing offers 454 g, 177 ml and 50 ml, and we did not confirm the price of each |
The best-known ceramide moisturiser, sold by the brand’s own store, fulfilled by Shopee. The ingredient list is complete, the product is fragrance-free, and the claims are about the skin barrier and hydration, not about treating eczema.
The specifications are careless: they tick “anti-bacterial” and “no-rinse” for a cream, and the expiry-date field shows a date in March 2026, so check the date on the tub when it arrives. The price shown is for one option of three and we could not tell which. Beware of look-alike listings: CeraVe’s name is on several unauthorized imports that the FDA has warned about, including an itch-relief lotion.
Why it scored well
- Brand’s own store, strong ratings
- Full ingredient list; fragrance-free
- Barrier and hydration claims, not treatment claims
Watch-outs
- Specifications say anti-bacterial and no-rinse; stale expiry field
- Price per size not confirmed
- CeraVe look-alike imports are named in FDA advisories

68/100
Most honest listing, highest price
3. Physiogel Hypoallergenic Daily Moisture Therapy Cream, 75 ml
ShopeeFDA notification matched
Expiry date stated
Says creams are not sealed
₱1,171 per 100 ml
| FDA status | A notified “Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy Cream” record exists (Zuellig Pharma Corporation), NN-1000015618767, valid to December 2028 |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Printed in full: aqua, caprylic/capric triglyceride, shea butter, glycerin, hydrogenated lecithin, coconut oil, squalane, ceramide 3 and others |
| Specifications | Fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, paraben-free, soap-free, alcohol-free; “BioMimic technology”; expiry date 04/04/2028; origin listed as Korea |
| Directions and disclosure | Apply twice a day; “only the 150 ml, 500 ml and 900 ml cleansers are sealed. Others (lotions and creams) are not” |
| Seller | Physiogel Philippines: 6 years on Shopee, 18.2K ratings, 22.2K followers, 74% response; 5.0 stars from 862 ratings, 3K+ sold |
| Price | ₱878 for 75 ml, about ₱1,171 per 100 ml |
The most candid listing: it prints the ingredients, the expiry date, the storage temperature, and states that the creams are not sealed, which is worth knowing before you buy any cream online. The product is notified with the FDA by exact name, and it is fragrance-free.
You pay a lot for it: about ₱1,171 per 100 ml, the dearest of the five, in a 75 ml tube. The specifications say the origin is Korea and the size is “travel”, and the shop answers about three messages in four. It is a good option for a small, expensive jar of facial or hand cream, but not for a whole body.
Why it scored well
- Ingredients, expiry date and storage printed
- Discloses that creams are not sealed
- Notified by exact name
Watch-outs
- About ₱1,171 per 100 ml, the highest of the five
- Small 75 ml tube
- 74% response rate

64/100
FDA notification matched
Eczema wording in the title
Silicone-free claim vs dimethicone
About ₱710 per 100 ml
| FDA status | Notified “Aveeno Dermexa Daily Emollient Cream” records exist (JNTL Consumer Health, now Kenvue), for example NN-1000014009106 (valid January 2028) and NN-1000016171641 (April 2029). The FDA has named other Aveeno-labelled imports as unauthorized cosmetics, including “Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream” (2024-1654) |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Printed in full: water, glycerin, panthenol, petrolatum, isopropyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, oat flour and oil, benzalkonium chloride, ceramide 3 |
| Claims | Title: “eczema lotion, atopic dermatitis”. Text: “clinically proven to relieve 5 signs of extra dry, eczema-prone skin: itch, redness, roughness, scaling, tightness”; “steroid-free”, “hypoallergenic”, “fragrance-free” |
| Specifications | Tick “silicone free” and “organic”; the ingredient list includes dimethicone, a silicone |
| Seller | Kenvue Official Store: 9 years on Shopee, 2M ratings, 100% response; 4.9 stars from 9.5K ratings, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱1,419 for 200 ml, about ₱710 per 100 ml |
The brand’s own store, an exact-name FDA notification, a full ingredient list and a gentle, fragrance-free cream with oat and ceramide.
It is sold with the language of a treatment: the title says “eczema lotion, atopic dermatitis”, and the text says it relieves itch and redness “due to eczema”. A cosmetic is not a medicine, and the FDA has warned against Aveeno-labelled eczema creams that were not authorised. Our concern is the wording, not the cream. The specifications tick “silicone free” and “organic” while the ingredients include dimethicone. For eczema that itches, spreads or oozes, see a doctor.
Why it scored well
- Official store; notified by name
- Full ingredient list; fragrance-free, steroid-free
- Oat and ceramide formula
Watch-outs
- Treatment-style wording for a cosmetic
- “Silicone free” and “organic” ticks do not match the ingredients
- About ₱710 per 100 ml

60/100
Brand notified, pack not matched
No ingredient list
Food-label text on a cream
About ₱200 per 100 g
| FDA status | Many Cetaphil Moisturising Cream records are notified (Galderma Philippines), for example NN-1000013571291 (valid October 2027). We could not match this 550 g pack, which a retailer sells. No FDA advisory found for Cetaphil |
| Registration number in listing? | No |
| Ingredients | Not listed |
| Claims | “Clinically proven to moisturize dry skin while cleansing” and to “bind water to the skin”; “hydrates for 48 hours”; “long-lasting relief for even severely dry skin”; fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic |
| Text errors | Ends with “Consume upon opening to preserve its highest-quality flavor and taste … check the expiration date before consuming”, which is food-label text |
| Seller | S&R Membership Shopping: a retailer with 3.6M ratings and 1.4M followers, 99% response; 4.8 stars from 5.9K ratings, 10K+ sold |
| Price | ₱1,099 for 550 g, about ₱200 per 100 g |
The most economical per 100 g, in a big tub, sold by a large retailer, and the brand is notified with the FDA in many versions. “Fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic” is what many people with sensitive skin look for.
The listing is careless: it gives no ingredient list, claims the cream moisturises “while cleansing”, and ends with instructions to “consume upon opening” for “flavor and taste”, which no cream should say. A large tub is also a risk in a hot, humid bathroom: scoop with clean hands or a spatula. Many other Cetaphil listings in the search are third-party imports with US pack sizes and odd titles; prefer a store you can trust.
Why it scored well
- Lowest price per 100 g of the five
- Brand has many notified versions; no advisory
- Fragrance-free; large retailer
Watch-outs
- No ingredient list; this pack not matched
- Food-label text pasted onto a cream
- A large tub is easy to contaminate in a humid bathroom
How to choose and use a moisturiser for the heat
- Choose fragrance-free and read the whole ingredient list. If you react to something, you can find it again.
- Match the texture to the weather. A lotion for the whole body in humid heat, a cream for dry patches and a very rich ointment only where skin is very dry.
- Buy from the brand’s own store or a store you trust. Skip imports with US pack sizes, spaced-out titles, “itch relief” or “eczema therapy” names and prices that are too good.
- Patch test. Try a new product on a small area for a day or two before using it widely.
- Apply after the shower, on damp skin, and again through the day. Use a clean spoon or a pump for tubs.
- See a doctor for skin that is weeping, cracked, infected-looking, spreading, very itchy or disturbing sleep, and for a child with a bad flare.
- Do not use steroid or antifungal creams without advice. A fungal infection can look like eczema, and a steroid on a fungal rash can make it worse.
How we researched this guide
We searched Shopee for fragrance-free moisturisers for eczema-prone skin on October 13, 2026, read five listings in full and scored them with our published rubric: FDA notification (25), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We searched the FDA Philippines verification portal for cosmetic notifications and advisories under each brand. The FDA notifies cosmetics; it does not approve them. No listing prints a notification number, so we matched products by brand and name. The portal’s lists are capped, so a record we did not find is not proof that none exists.
The advice on skin care comes from search summaries of clinic and dermatology pages, not the original sources. This guide does not cover medicines. We have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for skin-care products. This guide is general information, not medical advice. It has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best moisturiser for eczema-prone skin in the Philippines?
Of the five authentic listings we scored, Vaseline Pro Derma Repair Cream (76/100) had the best paper trail and value, and CeraVe Moisturising Cream (73/100) is the best-known. A moisturiser does not treat eczema.
Does a moisturiser cure eczema?
No. A moisturiser helps dry skin hold water and can reduce flares. Eczema that is severe or does not improve needs a doctor, who may prescribe a medicine.
Is heat bad for eczema?
Dermatologists quoted in the pages we read say sweat, heat and humid air commonly trigger flares. Keep cool, shower after sweating, wear cotton and moisturise.
Is fragrance-free better for sensitive skin?
Fragrance is a common irritant, so most skin doctors suggest fragrance-free products for eczema-prone skin. Patch test new products anyway.
Are CeraVe and Aveeno on Shopee real?
The official stores are. The FDA has named several CeraVe-labelled and Aveeno-labelled products, such as itch-relief and eczema-therapy creams, as unauthorized cosmetics, and many imports on Shopee look like them. Buy from the brand's own store.
What does "FDA approved" mean on a cream?
In the Philippines the FDA notifies cosmetics; it does not approve them. A US "skin protectant" or "medicated" label is a drug label in the US, not a Philippine product.
Is a cheap "eczema relief cream" safe?
We would not use one. Cheap unbranded or look-alike products have no maker to check, and some use drug ingredients such as pramoxine.
Should I use a thick cream or a lotion in humid weather?
A lighter lotion often feels better on sweaty skin, and a thicker cream suits dry patches. Heat-rash advice says to avoid heavy creams on a rash.
Can I use these on a child?
Ask a pediatrician for a baby or child with eczema. Baby-specific products exist, and some medicated or itch-relief products are not suitable for children.
How often should I moisturise?
Dermatologists in the pages we read suggest several times a day for dry or eczema-prone skin, especially right after a shower on damp skin.
When should I see a doctor?
When skin is weeping, cracked, infected-looking, spreading or very itchy, when it disturbs sleep, when a child has a bad flare, or when you are not sure whether a rash is eczema or a fungal infection.
Can I use an antifungal or steroid cream on a rash myself?
We do not advise it without advice. A fungal infection can look like eczema, and a steroid on a fungal rash can make it worse. Ask a pharmacist or doctor.
