Our verdict

Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation (81/100, about ₱34.90 per g) is the one we would buy first: full ingredient list, ten shades and the lowest price per gram. Human Nature (75) is a talc-free finishing powder; 4U2 (62) is a compact whose listing names no ingredients.

We found only three mineral makeup products that pass our checks, so this guide is short on picks and long on what to look for. This is general information, not medical or dermatological advice.

We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list and Shopee search for mineral foundation and mineral powder on October 17, 2026. We kept products whose exact name is notified with FDA Philippines and that are sold by the brand’s own official shop.

Prices and stock checked on October 17, 2026. Price per gram is our calculation from the listed price and net weight. Notifications were looked up in the FDA Philippines verification portal on the same day; cosmetics are notified, not approved, by the FDA. We did not use or test any product.

What “mineral” means on a makeup label

In the listings we read, “mineral” covered very different products: a foundation built on mica, zinc oxide and kaolin (Ellana), a talc-free finishing powder (Human Nature), a talc-based setting powder (Glamskin), and a compact that names no ingredients at all (4U2). The word alone does not tell you what is in the jar. The ingredient list does.

  • Mica, kaolin and silica give the powder its texture and finish; iron oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499) and titanium dioxide (CI 77891) give the colour.
  • Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the two mineral UV filters. If a powder claims SPF, look for them in the ingredient list, not just in the description.
  • “May contain” or “+/-” before a list of colours means the shade decides which of them are in your jar. A claim that relies on one of those (as Ellana’s sun-protection text does with titanium dioxide) may not hold for every shade.
  • Talc is a common powder base. If you want a talc-free powder, check the ingredient list; the Glamskin listing called its talc-based powder “mineral”.

Is SPF in makeup enough?

General information, not medical advice. The Prevent Cancer Foundation explains that SPF numbers are measured with a thick layer of product, while most people apply only about a half to a quarter of that amount, which can bring a makeup SPF down to the equivalent of about SPF 5 or 10. Layering two SPF products does not add their numbers together. Its advice is to apply sunscreen first, about a teaspoon for the face, then makeup, and to reapply every two hours outdoors.

So treat the SPF 16 (Ellana) and SPF22 (4U2) on these powders as extra, not as your sun protection. For a sunscreen, see our sunscreen guide.

Mineral makeup listings we would be careful with

ProductWhat we foundOur check
Glamskin Manila Just Blend Mineral Loose PowderOfficial Glamskin shop, ₱95 for 50 g. Its only ingredient information is an attribute reading “Zine Oxide, Titanium White, Talcum Powde”; no full list. FDA PH: the only Glamskin notification we found is a retinol cream, none for this powder. Not scored: no notification found
bareMinerals Original Pressed Powder Foundation SPF 15The product is notified (Luxasia, NN-1000015700563, to January 2028), but the official Shopee shop opened on 28 July 2026 with 24 followers and 0 ratings on this listing. The title says SPF 15, the attributes say SPF 50, and there is no description. Other sellers ship from Hong Kong or mainland China. Not scored: weeks-old shop, contradictory listing; revisit later
innisfree No-Sebum Mineral PowderNotified by iFace Inc. (NN-1000016653103, to August 2027), but we found no official innisfree store on Shopee PH. Our picks

Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation SPF 16, 8 g refill (Ellana Cosmetics)

81/100

4.1

Best overall: full ingredient list, many shades

1. Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation SPF 16, 8 g refill (Ellana Cosmetics)

Shopee

Loose foundation

10 shades with undertones

FDA-notified

About ₱34.90 per g

FDA statusNotified: “ELLANA Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation”, Vivanti Executive Advantage Inc., NN-1000015943605, valid to 12 February 2028. FDA advisories have named three other Ellana products (two serums and a moisturizer, 2024 to 2025), not this foundation; those products now show notifications.
Specifications statedFull ingredient list (mica, zinc oxide, kaolin, rice starch, silica, iron oxides and others); 8 g; 30-month expiry period; 10 shades with undertones; made in the Philippines; refill sachet or mirror jar
Claims“SPF16”, “waterproof”, “up to 8 hours”; zinc oxide and titanium dioxide “anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties help dry up blemishes”; kaolin “stimulates skin toning and tightening”
InconsistenciesThe text credits titanium dioxide with sun protection, but the ingredient list puts it under “may contain” (CI 77891), so not every shade is sure to have it. The same 8 g refill was ₱279 in some shades and ₱399 in others.
SellerEllana Cosmetics official shop (on Shopee since November 2015, 271K followers, 4.90 shop rating, 99% response). Listing 4.90 from 5,019 ratings; search shows 10K+ sold.
Price₱279 for an 8 g refill, about ₱34.90 per g; ₱399 (about ₱49.90 per g) in some shades (17 October 2026)

Ellana is the only pick that gives you everything you need to judge a mineral foundation from the listing: the full ingredient list, the net weight, the expiry period and ten shades each described by depth and undertone. The exact product is FDA-notified, and the brand has sold on Shopee since 2015. The refill sachet keeps the cost down once you own the jar.

Its claims go further than the evidence on the page. “Waterproof” and “up to 8 hours” are not backed by any test named in the listing, and the line about zinc oxide drying up blemishes is a skin-treatment claim we would not rely on. SPF 16 in a powder is a bonus, not your sunscreen (see below). Check the price of your shade: on the day we checked, it varied by ₱120 for the same refill.

Why it scored well

  • Full ingredient list and net weight
  • Ten shades with undertones
  • Cheapest per gram; refill option

Watch-outs

  • Titanium dioxide only “may” be present
  • Blemish and “tightening” claims are unsupported
  • Price differs by shade
Human Nature Perfect Finish Mineral Loose Powder (Human Nature Official Store)

75/100

3.8

Talc-free finishing powder

2. Human Nature Perfect Finish Mineral Loose Powder (Human Nature Official Store)

ShopeeLazada

Loose powder

Talc-free (ingredient list)

FDA-notified

₱595, weight not stated

FDA statusNotified: “Human Nature Perfect Finish Mineral Loose Powder”, Gandang Kalikasan Inc., NN-1000015826250 (valid to 20 February 2028) and NN-1000016456311 (valid to 30 June 2027). No advisory found.
Specifications statedFull ingredient list (mica, kaolin, silica, jojoba seed oil, bamboo stem powder, vitamin E, titanium dioxide, iron oxides and others); light to medium coverage; 24-month shelf life; no SPF claimed
Claims“100% natural”, “Vegan”, “talc-free”, “non-cakey”
InconsistenciesNo net weight anywhere on the listing. The description lists five shades; four are sold (no Warm Mocha). Hazelnut is described as “Fair skin” while listed with the medium shades.
SellerHuman Nature Official Store, Shopee Mall (on Shopee since December 2021, 561K followers, 4.93 shop rating, 91% response). Listing 4.89 from 676 ratings; search shows 2K+ sold.
Price₱595 (17 October 2026); price per gram not possible without a stated weight

Human Nature holds two current notifications for this exact powder, sells it from its own Mall store and prints the full ingredient list. The list backs up “talc-free”: there is no talc on it. It is a light, finishing-type powder rather than a full-coverage foundation, and it makes no SPF claim, which we count as honest rather than missing.

“100% natural” and “Vegan” name no certifier, and the list includes processed ingredients such as isostearyl hydroxystearate and dicaprylyl ether. The bigger gap is the missing net weight: at ₱595 it may be the most expensive pick per gram, but the listing does not let you check.

Why it scored well

  • Two current notifications
  • Full ingredient list; no talc
  • Makes no SPF claim it cannot support

Watch-outs

  • No net weight, so no price per gram
  • Shade list does not match what is sold
  • “100% natural” names no certifier
4U2 Skin Mineral Youth Powder SPF22 PA+++, 10 g (4U2 Cosmetics PH)

FDA-notified

About ₱46.90 per g

FDA statusNotified: “4U2 4U2 SKIN MINERAL YOUTH POWDER SPF22 PA+++”, Konnet International (Philippines), NN-1000014422141, valid to 15 April 2028 (older records to 2027). No advisory found.
Specifications stated10 g pressed powder; 3 shades; 24-month shelf life; SPF22 PA+++
Claims“Mineral-Derived Powders”, “SPF22 PA+++ UV Filters”, “Vitamin E, Niacinamide & Sodium Hyaluronate … (reported in similar formulations)”
Not statedAny ingredient list: the minerals and the UV filters are not named
Seller4U2 Cosmetics PH official shop (on Shopee since January 2025, 8.6K followers, 4.89 shop rating, 100% response). Listing 5.0 from only 8 ratings.
Price₱469 for 10 g, about ₱46.90 per g (17 October 2026)

This exact 4U2 powder is notified in the Philippines by the brand’s distributor, Konnet International, and it is sold from the brand’s official Shopee shop. A pressed compact is easier to carry for touch-ups than a loose jar.

The listing does not tell you what is in it. It says “mineral-derived powders” without naming one, and it lists vitamin E, niacinamide and hyaluronate with the note “(reported in similar formulations)”, which means the seller does not say this powder contains them. With only eight ratings, there is little buyer experience to go on either. Read the ingredient list on the box before you rely on it.

Why it scored well

  • Exact product notified
  • Compact format for touch-ups
  • Official brand shop

Watch-outs

  • No ingredient list on the listing
  • Hedges its own key ingredients
  • Only 8 ratings

How to choose a mineral makeup

  • Read the ingredient list, not the word “mineral”. Three of the five listings we read from official shops (Glamskin, bareMinerals, 4U2) had no full list.
  • Look up the exact product name in the FDA verification portal. Brand-level matches are not enough; Glamskin is notified for a cream, not its powder.
  • Compare price per gram. Ellana’s refill worked out to about ₱34.90 per g; 4U2 to about ₱46.90; Human Nature does not state a weight.
  • Choose by job: loose foundation for coverage, a light loose powder for finishing, a pressed compact for touch-ups.
  • Pick a shade by undertone as well as depth. Ellana describes both for all ten shades; Human Nature’s descriptions do not match its variants.
  • Do not count on powder SPF for sun protection. Wear sunscreen under it.
  • Patch-test a new product on a small area first if your skin reacts easily, and stop using anything that irritates. This is general advice.

How we researched this guide

We searched the Shopee affiliate offer list for mineral foundation, mineral powder and mineral makeup, and by brand (bareMinerals, Ever Bilena, Happy Skin, Sunnies Face, Maybelline), on October 17, 2026. We then searched Shopee by keyword and inside brand stores, read each listing in full, and looked each product up in the FDA Philippines verification portal, including its advisories. We scored them with our published rubric: provenance and registration (25), disclosure (20), claims (20), consistency (10), seller record (15) and value (10). We did not use or test any product.

No pick reaches 90: every listing either makes claims it does not support or leaves out basic facts. Only three products passed our checks, so we did not pad the list. The SPF section is general information, not medical advice. This guide has not yet been reviewed by our health content reviewer, and we have not checked the Shopee affiliate programme’s rules for this category.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best mineral makeup in the Philippines?

In our review Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation scored highest (81/100): it is FDA-notified, states its full ingredient list, weight and expiry period, and costs about ₱34.90 per gram as a refill.

What is mineral makeup?

Makeup based on mineral powders such as mica, kaolin, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide and iron oxides. The word is not a fixed grade, so read the ingredient list.

Is mineral makeup FDA approved?

FDA Philippines does not approve cosmetics; it notifies them. All three of our picks have a current notification for the exact product name.

Is mineral makeup talc-free?

Not always. Human Nature's ingredient list has no talc; the Glamskin "mineral" powder lists talc.

Can mineral foundation replace sunscreen?

No. The Prevent Cancer Foundation explains that people apply far less makeup than the amount used to test SPF, so the real protection is much lower. Wear sunscreen first.

Is mineral makeup good for acne-prone or sensitive skin?

We cannot say a powder helps skin, and we did not test any. Choose one with a full ingredient list, patch-test it, and ask a dermatologist if you have a skin condition.

Loose or pressed mineral powder?

Loose powder is usually built up with a brush for coverage; pressed compacts are tidier for touch-ups. Our picks include both.

Why is bareMinerals not ranked?

The product is notified, but its official Shopee shop opened in July 2026, the listing had no ratings and it gave two different SPF numbers. We will look again later.

Why is innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder not ranked?

It is notified, but we found no official innisfree store on Shopee PH, and resellers price the same powder anywhere from ₱185 to ₱550.

How long does mineral powder last?

The listings state 24 months (Human Nature, 4U2) and 30 months (Ellana). Check the date on the pack.

Why does the Ellana price change by shade?

On 17 October 2026 the same 8 g refill was ₱279 in some shades and ₱399 in others. Check your shade's price before you buy.

Did you test these products?

No. We read the listings, checked the shops and the FDA portal, and scored what the sellers put in writing.
